It's funnier in the summer when they call temps in the 70's "sweltering".

Not entirely unlike the U.S. left that remains in panic mode about CAGW because summer isn't cold enough for them.

That the runaway warming caused by CO2. Algore said this would happen and nobody paid would listen to him.

I went to the Florida keys for my brothers wedding. 78 the day of. farking perfect. The Floridians were complaining that it was cold.

Came home to San Diego, 50 with freezing rain. I had a sad.

Current weather at McMurdo Station, Antarctica:

28 degrees F
Visibility: Unrestricted
Winds from the SE at 10 knots

Pretty warm for this time of year. Not that I'm complaining.

2012-02-01 01:28:29 PM
what, exactly, are these degrees 'F" ?

2012-02-01 01:30:46 PM
Sunny skies and almost 60 degrees here in CT. Whatever pressure system is keeping the winter stuck in Alaska and Canada, keep at it.

2012-02-01 01:32:12 PM
It's farking 17 degrees here in Leipzig and it's supposed to get even colder tomorrow. Kein Wetter für ein Texaner.

For anyone who doesn't use a terrible form of temperature measurement it is -10 degrees Celsius in England and -6 degrees Celsius in Antarctica.

South Pole Weather:

Current Temp: -32c/-28f
Winds from the north at 4 knots

aren't they ALWAYS from the north at the South Pole?

Yeah, a gorgeous picture.

And here in DC we haven't had winter so much as a very long fall... and I hate it because I love snow too. Exercise AND get drunk at the same time. It's awesome. Plus it covers up the yard work I haven't finished, and is just plain pretty.

Oh yeah, and everything in my city comes to a halt once we get 2" - 3" of snow. If it's 6" or more then pretty much everything may be closed for more than one day. Most people just stay indoors and shut their doors so tight you'd think monsters roamed our streets, so it's very peaceful and quiet. After big snowfalls, and after I'm done with my shoveling, I like to go out adventuring... Wander through the snow, checking out the neighborhood and seeing what does manage to be open (holy crap, the McDonalds on Viers Mill Road doesn't close for farking ANYTHING!).

Nobody has done that yet, and that includes Big Man On Campus. He's actually poking his finger in the eye of the same people you are making fun of, only he insulted only the lefty half of them. (if that's who you mean)

Remember, due to global warming we can expect 4000% more, and more intense, hurricanes this year. Or tornadoes, or potatoes, whatever.

This is NOT a repeat of the thread yesterday where the UK was shiating its pants over it being 12 degrees F.

Or maybe you were referring to H.I., but H.I. is just poking Gore in the eye, not suggesting cold weather for a few days in the UK actually disproves a warming trend. It's humor that maybe you don't find it funny - which can be funny in itself (no offense to you in particular, but people reactions to a joke they didn't get or didn't understand was just a joke can be amusing)

2012-02-01 02:14:37 PM
Oh, a surprisingly large number of people in the UK have no heat. So that's why this is sort of a problem.

2012-02-01 02:25:08 PM
It's also helpful to remember that its pretty much always above 70% humidity, regardless of temperature
