In England, the Feds (or their equivalent) would get down on the gangbang, knock up one of the accomplices, and then head for the hills to stalk their offspring from afar.

Thin blue ethics...

Those really need to be hooked up with Thunderbolt or it's a sad, sad thing even using FW800.

That said, anyone taking anything said about money, street value or technology in an LEO article/report hasn't been paying attention the last 30 years.

What about USB 3.0? Getting a new mobo with 3.0. I doubt I'd be using an external drive that size but maybe some day I'll need to.

3.0 vs FW800 depends on what you're using it for and the implementation, apparently.

So forgive my ignorance, but how would this necessarily weed out Feds? No one wanted to bust the ring bad enough to step up to the plate? Are they not allowed to have sex with suspects even if it's to help an undercover operation? Sorry, I'm asking because I don't know.

I would imagine you could send in a informant in place of an actual agent.
Allow the informant to do all the stuff an agent might not want to, give him immunity in exchange for his testimony.
I also believe deep cover agents are given a little latitude in what they are allowed to do to maintain cover, like engage in orgies.

I guess that's the kind of mistake that they would make. Strictly speaking, that's four hard drives. Close enough for cop work, though.

Is it sad that when I read georgia, I was thinking of the Eurasian one?

I heard things about organized crime and carders being in cahoots, more specifically the Russian ones.

It would be terrifying if the American mafia decided to behave the same way as the Russian mob does.

Chances are the reported made one of three mistakes: 1) two hard drive enclosures, each holding multiple drives for a total of 12TB, 2) two actual computers where computer = hard drive, or 3) no pictures of said group sex to distract us from the stupid.
