That said, anyone taking anything said about money, street value or technology in an LEO article/report hasn't been paying attention the last 30 years.
What about USB 3.0? Getting a new mobo with 3.0. I doubt I'd be using an external drive that size but maybe some day I'll need to.

I would imagine you could send in a informant in place of an actual agent.
Allow the informant to do all the stuff an agent might not want to, give him immunity in exchange for his testimony.
I also believe deep cover agents are given a little latitude in what they are allowed to do to maintain cover, like engage in orgies.

Chances are the reported made one of three mistakes: 1) two hard drive enclosures, each holding multiple drives for a total of 12TB, 2) two actual computers where computer = hard drive, or 3) no pictures of said group sex to distract us from the stupid.
