Probably not, but now that the NDAA has been passed I wonder how long it'll be before state legislators who piss off the feds end up disappeared to Gitmo.

AverageAmericanGuy: President Obama, you can stop this.

He's not going to spend one bit of political capital on this issue. Just look at what happened in California.

Besides, the pharm lobby is one of his biggest contributors. And he has to scratch their backs so they'll scratch his again for the upcoming election, in the form of cracking down on the medical marijuana industry to help prime the market for when Sativex gets FDA approval.

I dislike Obama for a variety of reasons and while it would not surprise me much to see him on board with this I doubt he's got much to do with it. At least wait and see what his position is... well, at least let him have a meeting to discuss... Er... well, really, wait for polling data and how many votes he can get depending on what his position is, and then he will take a position.

FTA- "On the other hand, Turner said anyone who is "profiting significantly" from the sale of marijuana should be concerned."

Yep that sounds like how a democrat would fight the drug war. Even if a business is legal, if they think you have too much money, that alone makes you a criminal (unless you donate to their campaign).

Apparently the Obama administration lied to the cancer patients who depend on this stuff to be able to eat during chemo.

FTFA: Sands and the ACLU aren't actually worried about criminal charges. They've done nothing wrong other than advocate a point of view counter to the opinion held by federal law enforcement.

... Which, if you were to ask any random politician in Washington from either party, is one of the greatest crimes plaguing modern society. They shall be dealt with swiftly and accordingly.

He already said he was not going to let the feds get in the way of medical marijuana. This just seems like thuggery.

So is Obama waiting until re-election before he actually does anything about changing anything?

2012-02-01 02:30:40 AM
The federal government needs to take itself down a couple of steps and run like it was intended to run...not ruling with an iron fist over individual state's rights.

Yep.

The only thing he's doing now is misusing the power of his office to harass law abiding citizens who have different political views; like the Koch brothers.

If you didn't like it when Nixon or Joe McCarthy or clinton did it; why is it ok when Obama does it?

Lately?

But yes, instead of change anything in response to the wishes of the people, the most you'll get out of a politician is a very detailed explanation of exactly why your opinion is worthless to them, and how they were right all along.

I'm not surprised by this at all.

The Federal Government regulates medicine. State's can add more regulation, but they cannot ignore the base Federal Law.

Any lawmaker involved in legalization of Marijuana may actually have connection to "drug dealers" who are violating federal law. As such, it's their sad duty to investigate.

Obama's job as President is to defend and execute the executive branch powers. Until congress or the court says otherwise, Mary Jane is still an illegal activity on the federal level.

Troll points: 5.5/10. Nice try but below average.

Also, why Montana? There are now more dispensaries in Denver than there are Starbucks, and you know what? Nothing bad has happened here.

Four years and the best his supporters can claim is the repealing of DADT? After the campaign of promises he ran on? Guess it's no coincidence that repealing DADT doesn't run against any corporate interests.

How about the passage of the first health care reform bill in the history of the country?

It wasn't a "derpfest" until you showed up. I have no idea what gays in the military have to do with marijuana. Maybe you posted in the wrong thread?
Based on the stupidity I have seen from you so far, there is no way in hell you can explain anything in a way I approve. I already know the facts. Marijuana is good.

You should stop having beer for farking breakfast, smoke a joint and read a newspaper once in a while.

DADT, winding down and exiting Iraq, health care reform(though mostly crippled and destroyed by 1%er obstructists who just want everyone but the ultra rich to die in the streets), winding down(though not yet out) of afghanistan.

He has a pretty good record on the things he campaigned on. Actually.

So, in conclusion, you are a farking retard, and should feel bad about yourself.
