It's Food Lion. They just hosed the packages off and put them back in the cooler.

Ranger Joe: It's Food Lion. They just hosed the packages off and put them back in the cooler.

Weren't they caught trying to bleach expired fish a few years ago? That what you're referring to?

Nice headline, Subs. Reads like the caption to a Far Side cartoon.

Wouldn't that just make the meat cleaner to eat?

Man, the Beef Council is really upping their game from simply hiring Matthew McConaughey to do radio ads.

Former Employee Poured Bleach on Packages of Chicken

He wanted white meat.

2012-01-31 02:40:16 PM
he poured it on the packages?

Like the plastic wrapped packed chicken and pork?

Like the bleach hit plastic and nothing else?

Granted if bleach hit actual chicken or pork I wouldn't eat it, but if its just packaging I'd go to that store and say give me all that product at cost instead of chucking it.

What a conscientious man! Even after they fired him, he still wanted to help them keep the meat cases clean.

Diogenes: Weren't they caught trying to bleach expired fish a few years ago?

They got in trouble for bleaching meats and replacing the expiration stickers but that was more like a few decades ago... or maybe it was all three, a few decades/years/days ago.

First I thought of, is Food Lion used to do this as a standard practice.

Not so fresh Link to bleachy meat. At least this time it was on the outside of the package. Still won't go in Sweet Bay because of their Food Lion genes. Not the bleaching but the refusal to accept responsibility for the practices. If Food Lion would have said oops that is not our policy and corrective action will be taken I would be fine with them. Lie to me and FUUUUUUU.

What? You mean a hipster-all-grown-up was pissed off that he was working at a minimum wage job at a supermarket and couldn't control his own actions?

I wonder if he was doing that "To make a statement" about something.

Sorry. Just the hair, glasses and tattoos scream hipster douchebag to me, and considering this guy's age, probably isn't the most socially adjusted dude on the block.

No Food Lion's around me. They contracted to build a new huge store, built it and they backed out. When I have visited Food Lions, I always steal cheese and sardines. Just for fun and food.

/no respect for Food Lion. Or very many people.

The first thing I noticed was the musical notes aren't even correctly drawn.
You'd think you might check before having them tattooed on your neck but...no.

Management immediately removed all of the packages from the sales area.

And lo, on the thirty-first day of the first month, men of good will shall assemble to pull the pork. And yea and verily shall derive no pleasure from it.

IIRC, that plastic is semi-permeable, but small amounts of bleach aren't fatal. Wash it, cook it, delicious.

Primetime Live. "exposed" the bleaching incident.

Reading about the news story makes me wish Fark was older than it is, and it started calling media / news outlets out on their B.S. earlier.
