Be sure to look for special "game-worn fur" inserts, available in one in every 12,000 packs! Individually stamped and numbered!

Collectors will kill each other to get one only to find out in 10 years that it's worth 3 bucks.

In other news, they still make baseball cards.

Surely the bubblegum factories must have ceased production by now. I heard they went out of business about the same time as the Edsel.

Christmas morning 1986, a pack of Donruss was in my stocking. I opened it to find a rated rookie Jose Canseco. I looked it up, and it was worth over $80. I should have sold/traded it the next day.

According to the internet, it was as high as $180. You can get a PSA 9 on eBay now for $40.

Anyone want my Barry Bonds rookies? Glad I went out of my way in the late 80's to collect those ...

That '87 set was so good. I think at one point I was only one or two cards away from completing the whole set just from buying packs.

Yeah, but they made enough gum to go well into the year 2148, you've simply identified why there hasn't been a fresh piece of gum since 1963.

I still have mine. I'm sure it will go up in value in a few years. Just like my Ben McDonald rookie and my Jerome Walton rookie from the Topps update set. And I can't tell you how many packs of 89 Fleer I opened trying to get that Billy Ripken. So many memories...

My golden Donruss Jose Canseco card from the early 90s...is making me cry.

\if I had sold it I could've made enough for a car by now on the interest alone
\\card prices in the 90s were absolutely retarded

they need to make a special insert of that card that's decorated with foil and holograms and a piece of the actual squirrel.

I have a Greg Maddux Topps rookie that's waiting for him to make it into the HoF, then up on eBay it will go.

I haven't looked at my collection in a while, but I know I've got a David Justice rookie card, along with a few other pretty good players' rookie cards.

Always made me think I got a Mattingly when I opened a pack and first saw it. Damn lefty Yankee infielders with mustaches. I must have had like 12 of these. Damn you Mike Pagliarulo.

For starters, the headline doesn't call Schumaker "Chip." Second, I went to high school with that writer.

The first year I collected cards I had just a handful of them. That winter I saw on the news that Roberto Clemente died in a plane crash. My thought - Hey, I have that card. What a lucky break!

I used to collect baseball cards. Wish I sold some of them back in the day before the value really dropped on them. It used to be fun but it seemed the serious collectors changed that. Plus the speciality card gimmicks just made it a pain, never wound up with any of those. Nobody looked at the cards anymore, you opened it up and put it in a protective case.

Ahhh. Razor Shines. Takes me back to my boyhood nights in Indy, where he was a hitting god. He was the player that made me love baseball. Sweet swing. An Expo card would be even sweeter than my Indians card of him.
