Attack of the killer tomatoes!
Attack of the killer tomatoes!
They'll beat you, bash you,
Squish you, mash you
Chew you up for brunch
And finish you off for dinner or lunch!

They're marching down the halls
They're crawling up the walls
They're gooey, gushy, squishy, mushy
Rotten to the core
They're standing outside your door!

Remember Herman Farbage
While taking out his garbage
He turned around and he did see
Tomatoes hiding in his tree
Now he's just a memory!

I know I'm going to miss her
A tomato ate my sister
Sacramento fell today
They're marching into San Jose
Tomatoes are on their way!

The mayor is on vacation
The governor's fled the nation
The police have gone on strike today
The National Guard has run away
Tomatoes will have their day!

Attack of the killer tomatoes!
Attack of the killer tomatoes!
They'll beat you, bash you,
Squish you, mash you
Chew you up for brunch
And finish you off for dinner or lunch
Lunch, lunch
Dinner or lunch, lunch, lunch
Dinner or luuuuuunch

Weird. I was just planning on making some homemade tomato sauce later today. Guess there's a new technique I need to try.

Use romas. Smaller, firmer, and they're tapered.

Open both ends of a can of tomato paste, removing only one lid. Gently press the remaining lid...

oh good, the article mentioned cooked tomatoes. They still have the cancer-fighting chemicals when they're raw, but something about applying heat makes them more effective.

Cooking things generally helps release the nutrients

Careful... cooking makes some things easier to digest, but can also lower some nutritional content, like vitamin C, K, etc. How much of a nutrient is available can also depend on whether the food is cooked in oil or not.

In the case of tomatoes, cooking increases the amount of bioavailable lycopene, yes.

Good one, subby!

One of my standard tomato jokes has been:

"I've heard tomatoes are good for your prostate. I just can't figure out how to get them up there!"

/many clever people have replied I should try a squeeze-bottle of ketchup
//dad jokes always make me laugh
