The NFL can go on strike or get locked out and defenses have to catch up, allowing sixty-five different quarterbacks to throw for at least eight billion yards. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite work the same way in the NBA.

They scored 27 in the fourth to get there. They had 42 points at the end of the third. Forty-two.

There was one guy on the court last night for Philly who was over 6'10", Tony Battie, and he only played 17 minutes. And Dwight Howard was 6-17 from the field.
I know Howard's never going to be Kareem or Wilt down there on the offensive end, but damn.

1) There's no way Howard's giving 100% effort if Ryan Anderson collects 20 rebounds.
2) They had 51 points with 3 minutes remaining? The T-Wolves almost had that in the 3rd quarter alone last night.

Maybe I don't get it because I don't follow the NBA, but is there a joke here I'm missing? With all these Orlando Magic headlines I mean. A quick glance at the standings shows they're losing to winning teams.

Can I make this thread all about the T-Wolves again?
(Bonus: This is from the Houston side of the game and the color commenttator is so busy talking smack he seems to fortget that Rubio is making all the shots he's saying he can't make).
Love it!
Rubio: 18 pts, 11 Ast, 8 Rbs.

Trade him to the Celtics for Garnett and some draft picks

Was at the game. The Sixers were up 19 early in the 4th and then just sort of gave up for some reason once the magic took out Howard. Ryan Anderson then went off because no one really gave a fark about the game anymore.
/Go Sixers
//Hopefully if we finish .500 over our tough next 8 games we'll actually start getting some media hype.

Hell yeah we can make this a T-wolves thread! Last night's game made me not even sort of miss McHale. Anyone that thinks Courtney Lee is an answer to defend a power forward is nuts.
Pek looked good, Rubio made shots, KLove had the quietest 29 and 7 of all time, and I'd trade Wesley Johnson to Houston and take Flynn back.

Let me get away with a little hyperbole! :)
We need another scorer, either at the 2 or 3. Wes could be fine in the other slot if he improves, but right now he's basically a bad Bruce Bowen without a 3-point shot...not the description of someone who lasts long in the NBA. The team needs to build his confidence back somehow; he had a couple drives to the hoop that he passed out of into TOs that screamed "I don't trust my game".

Flynn would be a head case and not a natural 2. Pass.

Here's where I point out that the T-Wolves passed on Stephen Curry to take Flynn. Because I'm a Bucks fan and got nothin'.

His contract would end earlier, and he'd never see the court anyway. I'm not advocating PLAYING Jonny Flynn; I'm advocating NOT PLAYING Wesley Johnson.

"We share the ball," said 13-year veteran Elton Brand. "Sometimes it's Jodie's night, sometimes it's Dre's night, sometimes Thaddeus. But all the time it's us. We're a team. That's what's going to take us far."

It's better than Ellington or Luke at the 2, so there's that. I want to hold out hope on Wes, but it's hard to refute what my eyes see every single game.

Every Magic loss gets us one step closer to Dwight finally getting traded so we can stop hearing all the rumors about what team he'll end up with and start with all the rumors about whether or not he'll opt out of the last year of his contract.

I know they want to wait until the All - Star game to trade him... but the Amare & Chandler trade is the best option.
I don't see how that one doesn't go down.
Brook Lopez...seriously?
Bynum is decent and reminds me of Shaq. Kobe + Howard would be awesome sauce.
Anyone the Bulls have other than Rose...no thanks
Rondo? meh
Joe Johnson and Josh Smith.... as long as Smith isn't allowed to shoot a single 3 pointer...all season
