Trips me out was Hunt For Red October, and seeing what a handsome guy he once was.

His eyes were so blue. He must have lived in a bubble.

And oh yeah, I'd really like to look like him when I'm 50 something.

Alec Baldwin is a miserable little pig.

That voice. I wish I had his voice.

Some things in there don't react too well to sugars.

The fact that Alec is trying to keep up with his 27-year-old yoga instructor girlfriend has nothing at all to do with the weight loss, of course.

Hilaria ensues.

/Yes, that's her name. Was in my headline last week.

Diabetes repair, I guess?

He has been a bit hefty lately. Course, I could stand to lose a few pounds myself.

Nice to see that he has retained his looks after the weight loss, not like Drew Carey. Drew Carey just looks like a sad, old man now.

Not sure it works for all but my doctor mentioning diabeetus opened my eyes. Down 38 pounds, 4 pant sizes, blood work is all back to normal, cholesterol is down. The shame of it is, now that i'm watching what i eat and exercising...it really isn't all that hard. Wish I had started years ago.

I lost over 50 lbs in the last year. I went down 5 pants sizes just by eating 'lean and green', lean protein and plenty of veggies, and eschewing most fats and carbs like bread, potatoes, rice, etc.

You're right, it really isn't hard.

lewismarktwo: But think of all the delicious things that you could eat too much of.

I have delicious stuff still. about every 3-4 weeks, i'll pick a day and call it my reward meal. I'll have a coke and two slices of pizza (or something similar that i'm not eating regularly).

Heck, the funny thing is, once i started, i had a craving for one of those "little debbie oatmeal creme" cookie things. I held off for weeks, then we went on a car trip and i was sure I'd find a single cookie for $1.00 at a gas station, I never found one. So a few more months go by and I'm with my in-laws and we stop for gas and a bathroom break after a football game. Entering the gas station, i had a "harold and kumar" moment, angelic music, lights shining on a display case, tunnel vision.... $0.75 cream pies!!!!

Best cream pie i've ever eaten. Can't wait for summer so I can have another!

My only "favorited" farker. I'm similar but limited carbs (>40 daily, usually below 20) and meat/fat (but portioned). tpyical day, bacon/cheese | meat of some sort / nuts | regular meal with a few veggies

I made a low carb cheesecake the other day that was better than most regular cheesecake I've ever had. Take 2 packages of gelatin and soften them in warm water. Then mix 4 egg yolks, (save the whites), 1 cup half and half, 1 cup stevia, and 1 tablespoon salt in a saucepan; bring it to a boil, then add the gelatin and let it cool. While that's cooling, rice two packages of cream cheese (I use a wire strainer and push it through with a spoon)
and add 2 tablespoons vanilla. Add that to the custard after it's cooled, then toss it in the fridge to firm.

Then take half a pint (1 cup) of whipping cream and whip that till it's rad, and mix it in. Then whip the egg whites, and mix those in. I'd recommend refrigerating for about 12 hours, since the stevia takes a bit to settle in (earlier than that and it's kind of bitter). You can also make a crust out of crushed macadamia nuts, but personally I prefer just sprinkling them on top.

Recipe saved! Thanks. I'm still not to the point of putting fake sugar into my diet but in a few months, this might have to be part of a reward meal.

Tracy: So how am I looking, Dr. Spaceman?
Dr. Spaceman: Well Tracy, I don't know how to say this. (long pause) Di-A-Buh-tees?
Tracy: Diabetes?
Dr. Spaceman: That's it! Well now we know what we're dealing with!

Tracy: So how bad is diabetes, really?
Dr. Spaceman: Quite serious. If left untreated you could lose a foot.
Tracy: Could I replace it with a wheel, like Rosie from the Jetsons?
Dr. Spaceman: I suppose. But then you'd have to register as a motor vehicle.

After losing over 100 pounds over the course of 4 years, with 50 of it in the last two, I found it wasn't too hard either. The discipline is tough, but learning what to eat, when to eat it and how to eat, or prep it, wasn't tough at all. It certainly didn't require a market, IMO, with 5,000 different 5,000 page books to cash in on it. I'm convinced the common belief of 'It's just so hard' and 'how can the average person do this on their own?' is the tail end of lots and lots of marketing.

If I was going to write some kind of weight loss book I'd title it "Change Your Mind and Your Body Will Follow'. Because that is the toughness of losing weight. Changing the thought process of what, when, how we eat the foods we eat. Everyone already knows, or has a pretty damn good idea what is healthy and what is not. Including times to eat it, and amounts that should be eaten.

As for the article, I can't see the skinny pic next to the heavier pic and not hear Jack Donaghy saying something like "Being heavy is to ethnic".

The good news is that stevia isn't fake/synthetic. I suppose, though, that your current diet isn't very sweet so it's probably better if you avoid sweets of all kinds, just to cut the risk of craving carbs?

Anyway, good on Alec. He was starting to get horribly huge, and it really aged him, too.

It's pretty much my old cheesecake recipe with Stevia instead of sugar and half and half instead of milk; those two changes bring it below 1 carb per serving (before crust). Scarily, it's better on carbs than nearly anything else I make.

Crappy on SNL? I think he was pretty damn good, always making the best of what were usually smaller parts. He was always the voice over guy whenever they needed it in a sketch or commercial parody, that was definitely one of his strengths. He can deliver ridiculous lines with such a straight face. Name me one single time when he broke character while live on stage. You can't, the guy is such a pro. His never-breaking streak rivals only Phil Hartman, but I still know of at least one Phil Hartman crack up.

It's a younger man's game, Lemon. But I can't say that I don't miss it. You'd be in your office late at night, and the new girl would come in with some flimsy excuse to be there. ''Oh, Mr. Donaghy, I forgot to give you the factory worker death rates.'' Then, she'd laugh at your lame joke. A touch on the arm. And you'd take your reward.

Yep, that's the one time I can think of, and even after searching I can't find another one. And I can't find one single instance of Parnell breaking anywhere. In a lot of ways Chris Parnell is just a lesser Phil Hartman, both were the guys with the great announcer voice, and since they never broke they were the best straight men in a sketch. Really the only difference is Hartman got more lead roles in sketches, and that was probably because he wrote them himself. Parnell must have had problems writing for himself, because never landed a hit, recurring character of his own. But like I said, he did well with what he got. And he's been doing pretty decent with his post-SNL career. No lead roles, but still a great supporting character.

I made a low carb cheesecake before it was awesome, It's pretty much the same as any cheesecake recipe, just use splenda or stevia, heavy cream or half/half instead of any milk and what made it great was instead of graham cracker I crushed pecans mixed them with butter and some splenda for the crust.

good for him. I thought he was looking a little slimmer on this season of 30 Rock.

I'm trying to cut down on carbs myself, in addition to making a point of going to the gym regularly. buying ever-bigger pants is not an option.
