(Huffington Post) Unlikely Well, here's a shock. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is using her "tense" meeting with Obama to raise campaign money: " I wasn't pointing at him. I was telling him, 'You have ONE more year.'"   (huffingtonpost.com) divider line 189

AdolfOliverPanties: Republicans are farking crazy.

I was about to say that this was from the woman who suggested that Harry Reid should be assassinated if he won the election fair and square, and that you shouldn't judge all republicans by the words of one loon.

But then I remembered that was a different crazy republican lady, Sharron Angle, who was running against Reid for senate in Nevada.

So yeah, your point stands, I guess.

Of course they did. If they didn't believe literally everything every Republican says, then they wouldn't be Republicans.

Yeah.

Before she opens her idiot mouth again, someone in Brewer's office should really tell her that cameras and internets exist.

Lionel Mandrake: Dumb biatch doesn't know the difference between one and five.

We can help. One is the number of wives that President Obama has had in his entire life. Five is the number of wives Gingrich has had, plus the number of times he's been removed from office for, basically, embezzlement.

Wasn't she the jackass who proposed killing anyone who disagreed with her? The whole "second amendment solutions"?

GAT_00: And Republicans bought it hook, line and sinker.

In one of the other articles about this, it says her book went from number like 300,000 or so on the best sellers list to number 7 overnight. She's literally just doing the move that up-and-coming rappers do, where they start attacking big name rappers in songs just to generate publicity for themselves. We may as well start calling her Alley Boy (new window)

Actually he just looks pained to me. Like, "Jesus how the hell do I get away from this?"

Of course, still shots of an interaction between two people can be really deceptive.

She got up close to the President, pointed a finger at him, and told him his time was short... and for some reason she felt threatened?

Was it perhaps the way his Secret Service agents started giving her the 'I'll take the arms, you go for the head' eyeball?

No, two eye witnesses say HE wasn't tense. They said she pretty much was throwing a tantrum.

Cool link. For eight years, toolboxes on the right told us that we HAD TO RESPECT OUR PRESIDENT. WE NEEDED TO WATCH WHAT WE SAY. WE HAVE TO RESPECT THE OFFICE. IF WE'RE NOT WITH HIM, WE'RE AGAINST HIM.

Since Obama took office, it was okay to irrationally hate the President and do your best to obstruct his plans, even though Obama's plans aren't ruinous to our culture and our economy.

And as one of those blah persons that Mr. Santorum was so casually disparaging, I took great offense at his statement.

I hope Mr. Santorum takes care to measure his remarks in the future. Like all Blah Americans, I've smoked a hell of a lot of weed over many, many years to reach this level of total apathy.

Hang on. She finished up the last 2 years of Napolitano's final term (and yes, I am bitter about that, Janet). She successfully won election riding the high of that BS anti-brown bill she scribbled into law.

So that'd put her at almost 6 years and 1 1/2 terms when she is done. She can't run for another term? I didn't know this.

I hate this state, politically. White people think they were first and are the only thing that matters. The old white retirees and white mormon people all think the 1950s that were on TV really took place and Sheriff Stupid and the Conservative Cabal are all keeping them safe from the Brown Menace and the Evil Federal Government.

Jesus

"We deserve results over rhetoric, but this is a president who had the audacity to sue me and Arizona in my efforts to protect our country from illegal immigration!"

Conservatives and Tea Party adherents, meantime, accuse Obama of being thin-skinned and say he deserved to be scolded by Brewer for his administration's response to the state's illegal immigration problem.

Someone should ask them if deportations have increased or decreased under Obama.

"They are awful," she said. "Knowing that my father died fighting the Nazi regime in Germany, that I lost him when I was 11 because of that...and then to have them call me Hitler's daughter. It hurts. It's ugliness beyond anything I've ever experienced."

Brewer's father, however, died in California of lung disease in 1955, a decade after the Second World War ended.

Heh, I forgot about that. Good times.

Gotta be honest- this happens with all political parties. The GOP is just the worst offenders of it over the last few years.

Who was the last Democrat that did something this bad? Do both parties do questionable things from time to time? Sure. But to imply that both sides are EQUALLY bad is what we call a "false equivalence"

I'm not suggesting that both sides do it 'so vote whatever'. As I said, the GOP is by far the worst offenders right now. I'm not turning this into an 'Us v Them' thing. Sorry.

One more year to give her some sugar?

One more year to get ready for her going into the private sector to be available for a job?

One more year to buy into the Phoenix Coyotes, and see Tippet take them towards the Cup again?

One more year to see the Suns at their home arena?

ONE more year of what, Jan? ONE more year of what?

Because if Newt or Romney get the nomination, he's going to be President for another four after that....
