Campfield said that on the contrary, he has no problem with gays. "In my business I do rental properties and I've rented to homosexuals, mixed-race couples, black couples," he said. "And about every single group you can think of has been in my office."

Campfield stood by his comments on Huffington Post editor Michael Signorile's show in an interview with the local NBC affiliate in Knoxville, saying that "The odds of a regular man getting it from a regular woman are very low."

There are so many things wrong with this. Where to begin?

What's a "regular" man or woman? Why does he bring up that he's rented to blacks and mixed-race couples when not prompted?

In before some idiot claiming this is a violation of his civil rights.

Especially in the same breath as a group he openly hates, yet has no problem doing business with.

What's even better is he acts like it was of his own free will, but he was required to not consider race when renting to people:

Fair Housing Act
Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (Fair Housing Act), as amended, prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of dwellings, and in other housing-related transactions, based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status (including children under the age of 18 living with parents or legal custodians, pregnant women, and people securing custody of children under the age of 18), and handicap (disability).

A Straight or at least sexually repressed Republican.

FTFA: State Rep. Stacey Campfield is evicting a roommate after learning from the news media that the man is a convicted sex offender.

"Did I have any knowledge (of the man's crimes)? No. He answered an ad in the paper," said the freshman Republican, who renovates and leases houses as a profession and has been renting a room to the man since at least late 2003.

"It's not like I'm condoning what he did," added the outspoken Campfield, whose conservative Web blog has been criticized by colleagues for poking fun at Democrats and deriding gay adoption and abortion.

Campfield's renter Christopher Eatherly, 30, was convicted in 2002 in Anderson County of three counts of statutory rape for having sex with a 13-year-old girl. He was charged the following year for failing to register his new address in Knox County with the TBI.

That address was 1409 Henna Street, according to court records. But there is no Henna Street in Knox County. There is a 1409 Hannah Avenue, however, and Campfield owns it.

Campfield acknowledged Thursday that he rented that house to Eatherly and another man. When the other man moved out, Campfield rented a room in his Flagler Road home to Eatherly. The Flagler Road home is Campfield's official residence - the only one of seven properties he owns in Knox County that is within his legislative district.

And a quote from the owner: "I didn't want his hate in my restaurant," she said. "I told him he wasn't welcome here. ... I feel like he's gone from being stupid to being dangerous, and I wanted to stand up to him."

For the record, the senator is also the same idiot who claimed AIDS was caused by gay people "screwing" monkeys.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention site notes that vaginal intercourse "is the most common way the virus is transmitted in much of the world."

Psh, what do those eggheads know? Campfield is just saying what he feels in his gut, like a good American. God bless him.

Let's see- a narrow-minded idiot being refused service from people in the restaurant industry. I'd say the owner did him a favor. It definitely cut down on the amount of saliva, pubic hair, urine, phlegm, and various other bodily secretions that assclown would have consumed for lunch.

I'm not sure who to support more there. On the one hand, the rights of property owners to serve whomever they wish should be paramount. On the other hand, that Tennessee Legislator is supporting public morality; keeping the homosexual agenda out of our schools, while protecting our kids -and that's the kind of thing that should be lauded, not spurned.

tough choice.

Love it,

Descent minded people everywhere should form an anti-hate hate groups that discriminates on the basis of tolerance/bigotry.

Any public figure to hold an intolerant view should be harshly discriminated against by the silent majority. Or take it even further, you could have anti-hate hate groups that systematically persecute and oppress any prominent bigot. Not exactly turning the other cheek stuff, more eye-for-an-eye, but at least it isn't as extreme as having a gay hit-squad killing all these jerks. But you know, with the worlds population getting out of control, people ought to be doing a little better at justifying their existence to their fellow humankind.
