Attended a wake on Friday and the funeral home had a Starbucks. It wasn't a full on Starbucks, but it was real enough to have a barista.

None in Maryland, either.

1 in West Virginia.

Martinsburg.

Or, as I like to call it, Dykesburg.

There isn't a Starbucks in my bedroom. Or at least, there wasn't the last time I checked.

Ask the chai-wallahs, I have no idea.

Starbucks downsized notably in my area over the past couple years. Do you guys still have them across the streets from each other in some places?

FTA

Western-style cafes in India charge roughly 60-80 rupees ($1.22-$1.62) for a plain cup of coffee... far more than the 10 rupees charged at a basic local outlet.

To be fair, that does include the e-coli flavor shot.

It was like that in Manhattan last year. Every. Friggin'. Block. And at opposite ends of the same block.

Nearest Starbucks over an hour away. Much too far to drive for over-priced shiatty coffee.

Somewhat ironically, there are no Starbucks franchises on Nantucket. But that is where the family, who inspired the Moby Dick character, originated. It was the M.D. character that inspired the coffee shop name.

All Latest: No Starbucks in Norway either until February 9, when the first one opens at Oslo Airport.

I'd love to know what the prices are. Starbucks in Copenhagen run about $11 (USD) for a Frappuccino, and Norway is known for being even more expensive (like $25 for a Big Mac combo at McD's).

Not that the world couldn't do with a couple fewer Starbucks. The one next to the (800?) year old gate to Canterbury Cathedral is kinda sad. But the one in the basement of the Louvre is funny - must p*ss off the French something awful.

Hah! Was talking to the ex who lives in a small town in Nawth Cackylacky. Nearest Starbucks to her is 24 miles away. I didn't believe her at first, because here in Washington State there is NO SUCH THING!

Even after closing a bunch of stores, we still have them less than a block away from each other.

True dat.

Lotsa locations

And at 50 years of age I've never been to a Starbucks or drank a cup of coffee.

None of those locations came up in a search for Starbucks near 26763. It was the Starbucks website, too!

It showed locations as far away as as Winchester, Va., but only the Martinsburg location in WVA.

Starbucks is pretty sparse in Minneapolis. It's all Caribou up there. Which, after failing to find a Starbucks one morning, I found I like more.

Ananapolis, ever heard of it? They also have Starbucks.

i like having Starbucks in Paris. In many cases its next to impossible to get a coffee to go or iced; if it is to go its cups of 6 oz or less (compared to Starbuck's 12oz cup) and isn't particularly good at most places. in many cases Starbucks can be much cheaper than getting coffee at a cafe, especially for the coffee of the week specials (€2.50 for a 12oz cup).

the flavored hot coffees on offer here for Starbucks are horrible; the frappucinos here are ok.

Is it true that there is an intersection of mid-town manhattan that has a Starbucks on each of its 4 corners?

2012-01-31 10:00:48 AM
As far as I know, there isn't one within 120 miles of where I live, and I'm okay with that. It'll be a cold day in hell before I pay $5+ for a cup of coffee that doesn't even have booze in it.

I've seen the end of the universe, and it happens to be in the United States and, oddly enough, it's in Houston, Texas. I know -- I was shocked, too. Imagine my surprise when I left a comedy club one day and walked to the end of the block, and there on one corner was a Starbucks, and across the street from that Starbucks, in the exact same building as that Starbucks, there was -- a Starbucks. I looked back and forth, thinking the sun was playing tricks with my eyes. That there was a Starbucks across from a Starbucks -- and that, my friends, is the end of the universe.

Shepherd and West Gray. Drive by it every week. One of them was undergoing remodeling, and put up a form banner that said "Starbucks is being renovated to better serve you. The nearest Starbucks is located at ________"

I am sure the person who filled in "ACROSS THE STREET" in the blank was amused.
