Fark Party
Host: lady_nocturne
Description: NorCal Vegas Liver Warm-Up party: Friday, Feb 24th @ 7:30 PM @ Lefty O'Doul's. Drew will be there
Date/Time: February 24, 2012 - 07:30 PM (local time)
Party Info: Facebook event page is here: http://www.facebook.com/events/289523614434263/

With Vegas less than two months away, we need a NorCal warm-up party! Drew will be in town, and we all know that he needs a reason to hang out and have a few beers, right?

Meet up at Lefty's at 7:30 PM: http://www.leftyodouls.biz/

It didn't sound like we'd have enough people to get a hotel for group rate, but we're staying at The Handlery, which is right upstairs of Lefty's: http://sf.handlery.com/

See y'all there! :-)

I should be able to make it.

Does this mean I'll have to end my self-imposed Facebook vacation?

As much as I'd like to meet some of you Farkers, SF is a little too far for my liver to commute.

I can come by early, but I have a 6am international flight the next morning.....it'll be an easy early night for me!

I don't want to be anywhere near anyone who uses the phrase "NorCal".

I should be there. I think Lefty's is great.

/Doc's Clocks, not so much.

Amatuers.

I keep my liver in a constant state of hot standby just in case a Fark Party breaks out nearby.

Someday one will. You'll see.

I.. I may be there. Yes. I think I'll be there.

HAHA San Francisco is central California!

Actually, If you had to split the state. The Bay Area would be it's own state. The capital of Central would still be Sacramento. The Southern capital would probably be L.A. and the Northern capital would be either Redding or Chico. Personally, I'm hoping for the return of The State of Jefferson.

I automatically know if somebody has spent time in Southern California if they call interstate 5, "The Five". I know not to trust them with my water at that point.

Five is a number. The Five is a short name used to identify Interstate 5.
Mock away. ;)

it's a regional thing. Down there it's the 5 the 405 the 10 the 110.
Up here it's 101` to 237 to 880 to 980 to 80 etc.
It makes sense in both places.

So, is this thing in San Francisco, then? Why say "NorCal" when you mean "SanFran"? If it were in actual Northern California, I'd probably be able to make it.

You live in Jefferson? I'm in the Scott Valley. SF is most decidedly not in Northern California, except for those with a SF/LA centric mindset.

"Northern California is the northern portion of the U.S. state of California. The San Francisco Bay Area (which includes the cities of San Francisco, Oakland, and the largest city of the region, San Jose), and Sacramento (the state capital) as well as its metropolitan area are the main population centers."

We have enough red states sponging of the federal government, why do we need another one?

Can any farkers tell me what these Fark parties are like? I'm a resident of SF and work right in that area so I might check it out. Should I wear a nametag with my handle or something?

The Capital should probably be nearer to Mt Shasta.

You have to print out a copy of your profile. If a hit counter is not present, you are turned away at the door.

I may try to drop in. The wife will be at school right around the corner so I can BART it out there and have a couple beers.

Anything north of SLO is Northern California as far as I'm concerned.

/SF is in fact in the northern half of california

also, no self-respecting lover of classic bars should ever give a dime to the Handlery Hotel company. those assholes are evicting the Gold Dust Lounge, and doing so through skullduggerous means.

We decided a while back that the parts that look like LA get lumped in with LA.

So, the new boundary runs through Dixon. Sorry, there's nothing we can do.

Also, there is a big parking garage a couple of blocks away that is $2.50/hr from 6pm to midnight if you plan on driving in. The Mrs. uses it on the days she doesn't take the train and hasn't had any problems.

Link (new window)

Be aware of the open/close hours posted on their rates page... don't want to get stuck there overnight.

Just an observation, but Ess Eff is in the CENTER of the State, not the northern part.
