I've lost count of how many times I've had windows in my van broken, around 10-15 in the last 6 or 8 years. Through it all nothing of any real value has ever been stolen, yet it costs upwards of $500 every time I have a window replaced.

I finally stopped locking the doors, I'd rather they just take whatever useless item I left lying on the seat then to break my damn window for it.

During a very hot summer about 10 years ago, my car window was smashed to steal a box fan I had in the back seat. Which sucked because I was going to use it and the car was unlocked.
