Praise Cheesus, very rarely (if ever) does a FARK handle just make me crack the fark up, but when I read your name I sprayed coffee on my keyboard.

(Also very astute analysis on Dolph)

News Update:

ring announcer Lilian Garcia's husband Chris Jozeph mentioned in passing that Evan Bourne is in rehab when the topic of tag team partner Kofi Kingston's match against The Miz was brought up in an interview last night.

FirstNationalBastard: Praise Cheesus: Kharma's return at the Rumble was a one-off. Expect Kharma to be back full time after WM.

I agree, and disagree.

I think the Rumble appearance was a one-off designed to remind people she exists. However, I also think they're going to get her in the mix for a Wrestlemania payday. probably bringing her back after Elimination Chamber in the monthlong lead-up to Wrestlemania.

Yes, Kharma got tossed into the mix at the Rumble as a reminder that she's on the roster. You'll note that her big move was on Dolph Ziggler - the man that could put a paper bag over in the middle of the ring. I'd guarantee that spot was directly over one of the ring springs that are placed under the platform, so he was better able to go up into position for that boob buster he took.

With a newborn infant, I don't think she's ready to return yet. She'll be ready once the baby sleeps through the night. Hell, I remember trying to work a call center job with a newborn in the house and my concentration was shot because of a lack of sleep. She's likely going to need the next couple of months to get her conditioning back for the ring.

That's true. But, the Wrestlemania payday is usually the biggest of the year, alongside the Rumble (IIRC). So, I could see her being back for some type of angle in time for Wrestlemania. Maybe not much... just a few shows before, but enough to get her on the big card with her coming back full time after WM, as you said.

dellsworth1007: My grandson's reaction to Funkasaurus tells me it is probably played out. He like the first coupleof appearances, but was kinda "meh" the last time. Move on creative and get a new spin for Clay (keep the chicks involved though).

Cut back the intro to starting with the music, give him a rival and some real matches, and the Funkasaur might have a chance... better do it quick though.

Only problem I have with Punk/Jericho and DB/Irish is that would mean that both Punk and DB retain at Elimination Chamber. Has that happened before?

Elimination Chamber, as a PPV, has only existed since 2008, when it was billed as "No Way Out". It was renamed "Elimination Chamber" in 2010. It has been a match style at various PPV events since 2002.

Looking back over the period of 2008 to 2011, we have one year where the matches only determined who would challenge for the belts at WM (2008), one year where a champ lost the WHC in the Smackdown (2009, Edge), one year where both belts changed hands (2010) and a year where the sole belt holder retained and the the other match was to contend for the belt at WM (2011, Edge).

I could see both retaining this year, just to stir the pot. Conversely, DB could drop his belt to Sheamus and challenges at WM.

Raw was up this week. 18-49 ratings were level for both hours, but they lost only 149,000 viewers in hour 2.

I'm sure the segment breakdowns will be interesting.

You mean that HHH isn't superhuman and can't take a little thing like a knee to the throat? Now we know why WWE cautions their less mature audience members "Don't try this at home".

The sheets are saying Vince is finally going around the bend.

...moreso than usual.

People within WWE have been saying for months now that Vince McMahon just hasn't been acting himself. The same was being said at last night's RAW in Kansas City. Speculation is that the stress of running WWE, launching the Network and other things are taking its toll on him.

Time to retire, Vince. You've had your run, made your money, you're almost at the age your father was when he died... let Gagne have control of the company, with a strict "no TV Appearances" clause in his contract.

Y'know, I wonder if they're giving DB Punk's old gimmick, from back when Punk was the Straight Edge Savior, and tried to convert everyone.

/the first 7 or 8 men in the 2010 Royal Rumble ere great, with Punk eliminating everyone then trying to convert the audience between entrants. Of course, who should come out and immediately spoil everything?

It's all about the Gagne.

From PWInsider -

Many wrestlers and others from the business have praised last night's match between CM Punk and Daniel Bryan on Raw. Below are a few of the posts from Twitter:

Joey Styles: "OK. I'll admit it. I would come out of retirement to call @CMPunk vs. @WWEDanielBryan. #BestInTheWorld"

Jim Ross: "Punk vs Bryan is a broadcaster's dream. They're making great music. Amazing match." "What I would have given to call that one. Had to stand ti watch it"

Bret Hart: "Kudos to both @CMPunk and @WWEDanielBryan. Good match"

William Regal: "Hello from lovely Omaha Nebraska. Very proud of @CMPunk and @WWEDanielBryan. Good lads.I hope my twins marry such lovely fellas."

Lance Storm: "@CMPunk and @WWEDanielBryan Thank you for giving me some great wrestling on my Sports Entertainment show."

I read somewhere that the hand shake between Bryan and Punk at the start of their match Monday was basically a shout out to Ring of Honor.

William Regal: "Hello from lovely Omaha Nebraska. Very proud of @CMPunk and @WWEDanielBryan. Good lads.I hope my twins marry such lovely fellas."

But William, wouldn't they have to be separated and let out of the attic first?

They ask the wrestlers to shake before every match. Most of the time, the heels refuse.

Not read the spoilers themselves, but Mark's been on a gimpy leg for a month plus now, not a surprise that he's out for a while.

Still don't understand why the WWE persist with Khali. Sure he's tall as fark, but he can't move, can't speak and he's never going to be over. Having said that, I don't know enough of the SD! roster to name a better replacement (one of the interchangeable single-named Mexicans?)

Apparently he's massively over in India, and that's a major growth market for WWE and wrestling in general right now (hence why TNA's doing the Ring Ka King thing there too).

Easy change, transfer Kofi over SD! and just change his birthplace again to India (and push him to make up for Wee Evan's mistakes). Kofi is going to be a workhorse I hope in the Raw, he can really wrestle when given in-ring time. Seriously though with the bigs in that match, it's going to be slow as heck. I wanted a returning Christian though but we never get that.

An angle took place on Friday's SmackDown in which it was suggested that Natalya had accidentally farted during a backstage confrontation with Aksana and SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long. According to both F4WOnline.com and PWInsider.com, it was not a one time occurrence as WWE will be continuing the foible going forward with more comedic vignettes.

The breakdown on this week's RAW ratings:

The January 30th RAW Supershow did a 3.55 cable rating and 5.21 million viewers. This was the most-watched RAW since May 23rd, 2011.

In the segment breakdown, the opener did a 3.90 quarter-rating. Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler lost 580,000 viewers while Tyler Reks vs. Brodus Clay lost 166,000 viewers. CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan gained 219,000 viewers to a 3.54 quarter-rating.

The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston lost 231,000 viewers while The Rock's video lost 329,000. Eve Torres vs. Beth Phoenix and the Kane vs. John Cena brawl gained 325,000 viewers. The segment with Triple H, John Laurinaitis and The Undertaker gained 753,000 viewers.

Seriously, Vince wants to argue that the reduction in ratings is the fault of Punk/Bryan/Ryder? Over a half a million viewers looked at the first match, said to themselves "Not this shiat again" and turned the channel, then another nearly 200,000 switched off when reminded to call their mommas. I think the only way you would have gotten the audience back at that point would have been for Jerry Lawler to strangle Michael Cole at the announce table and JR come in to take his spot back.
