I've actually been thinking about this... a Ferris Bueller sequel, if done right with the same level of love that this ad was made with, might actually be pretty cool.

That is full of win.

WhoIsWillo: a Ferris Bueller sequel, if done right with the same level of love that this ad was made with, might actually be pretty cool.

Him, with a wife and kids, skipping out on a day from work with the boys? That could work. In fact, I think there are millions of us who want to see that happen. But, it has to be done in the same way as the movie, kinda like the ad. Get Charlie sheen back, give Jeffery Jones an ankle monitor and keep him away from the kids, you can probably replace the rest of the cast.

If they do it properly, it could be an instant classic and make a boatload of money.

My idea eliminates Jeffery Jones, but has a young, hotshot HR rep trying to track down Ferris. Charlie Sheen shows up in a cameo, as the straight laced, boring husband of Jennifer Gray, who help cover for Ferris when the HR rep comes calling. A significant subplot involves giving Alan Ruck's Cameron some escape from his shrewish wife who is also the first person he ever slept with. But I love the idea of him taking the kids with him, the idea of doing it as a family comedy is really appealing to me.

Supposedly there's a script in the works. Has been for years, though, so it'll probably never come to anything. Still, if the commercial is popular enough it might push it through.

Also, dude already looks enough like a math teacher, did he really have to do a CR-V commercial?

Naw, you've got it all wrong. In the sequel, Ferris is the uptight dean of students at a university. He's had a string of bad marriages after Sloan left him for Cameron. He makes a young hot shot his pet project and spends a day trying to ruin him.

The young hot shot is played by...

Shia Labeouf

/directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

I like the idea of them revisiting it 20 years from now where Ferris is living it up in a retirement community, the one who takes advantage of the women to men ratio, but just wants a day outside without having to be chaperoned by an orderly. So he breaks out, goes to a home where Cameron resides because he just doesn't have the will to live anymore and his miserable family never visits, and they make a day of it in whatever sunny city they live in.

Sheen makes a cameo as some crotchety fart who gives the know-it-all old lady a telling to. The old lady that ratted him out to the orderly who, for some reason, is having a helluva time tracking Ferris.

Yeah, now that John Hughes is dead, time to bend his corpse over the barrell and fark it for all it's worth. Forget that he was ever trying to say anything with his movies, we've got money to make.

The SEX IN THE CITY residuals must be starting to dry up.

And, I have to say, he looks almost the same as he did in FBDO; a bit thicker in the face & body, but overll he
is aging very gracefully.

It starts out with a clever/paraody vibe where Bueller is calling off from his job as an actor, but then it just goes into what is pretty much a scene by scene remake of the movie with a CRV instead of a Ferrari and I was less than impressed. You need Cameron for it to be any good. Bueller by himself is a bit of an immature ass, the movie only really works because he is putting out a lot of effort to cheer Cameron up.

Pretty good tribute ad. Definitely well-thought out.

As mentioned earlier, if a good script comes up with an adult Ferris doing pretty much the same thing, maybe with his kids, I would actually go see it.

And with all of the original cast--that would be a necessity.

I was really hoping for a well-done sequel, but I'll take what I can get. They did a good job, and it was a nice tribute to a favorite movie.
