It is just not a Republican primary season until Buchanan's racist faux-populism is running in the gutters.

What's that? Gingrich is the political equivalent of a dung beetle? Say it ain't so!!

I would have assumed he saw Gingrich as pancakes.

Ronald Rragan was about as concerned about newt Gingrich as newt Gingrich is about me.

In other words, not at all.

Jealousy? Newt seems to be gaining more traction borrowing some of Buchanan's themes than Buchanan ever did himself.

Is it really? Gingrich or him probably pissed one another off sometime during his previous involvement. Its not like Newt hasn't publically burned bridges over small insults. The dude shut down the government because of his seating location on a plane.

Both the guys have been involved in politics directly or indirectly for nearly 3 decades, plenty of time for them to make enemies of one another.

That, or Romney sent a nice fat check to Buchanan.

Over the last week, several people that worked in the Reagan administration have come forward and countered former House Speaker Newt Gingrich's claim that he is a "Reagan Republican."

Would Ronald Reagan be a Reagan Republican (as defined in 2012)?

Er, that was David Wu. Sorry.

When a politician is saying "something of a political opportunist" that about another politician, you know that guy is a bottom feeder.

Are we sure Buchanan said that? I mean, I know he's relaying the thoughts of Reagan but I don't think he's directly quoting him and it feels like a severe understatement from someone who never understates anything. Calling Gingrich "something of a political opportunist" is like saying The Joker has a bit of a rebellious attitude.

No.

Furthermore, as many have said, Eisenhower would have been derided as a RINO and a socialist by today's conservative clowns.

Actual Reagan quote after meeting Gingrich: "Mommy, Bonzo get so ugly? Juice and peanut butter now! NOW! NOW!!!!"

The campaign ad writes itself.

FADE UP FROM BLACK on a posed picture of Ike in a fancy office. Music: "Bicycle Built for Two
"When soldiers were dying for freedom, elitist Dwight Eisenhower was hiding back in England with his male 'assistant' who called him 'Ike.'"

CUT TO: Shots of money being paved over, then shots of Hitler driving. Music: Deutschland Uber Alles
"Now socialist liberal Dwight Eisenhower wants to waste billions in tax dollars on a highway system -- based on the GERMAN autobahn -- that would put roads in states that your family will NEVER drive to."

CUT TO: Tank factory photos from WWII, with giant RED "Closed for Business by 'Ike' sign superimposed. Music: We're in the Money
"Socialist liberal Dwight Eisenhower says the military industrial complex that saved the world and creates millions of jobs."

CUT TO: Crying children as Soviet soldiers march down main street. Music: Ominous piano chords
"Can we afford to put a soft-on-freedom socialist in the White House? No, we can't. Vote Freedom. Vote Fetus Gingrich."

Envy.

Newt has actually tricked people into electing him and has been up to # 3 on the Presidential Depth Chart... with a quasi-legal coup operating to remove #1.

Pat was never more than a servant's servant and a mouth.

But Gingrich's faux-populism is very interventionist and very pro-Israel. Two things that Buchanan is not. If Ron Paul were more concerned about the breeding rate of white people, he'd be more likely to get the Buchanan nod.

What?
