Mr. Titanium: Infernalist: PanicMan: Petit_Merdeux: Explaining to the audience that he wasn't sure how to "chit chat with a famous actor" when he phoned Voight to ask for his support, Romney said he decided to talk about his kids.

Man of the people, indeed.

I'm more of the opinion that Romney is sailing blind if he thinks that the Independent middle and the far right even 'care' what Jon Voight thinks when it comes to political matters. Why should we? He's not an economist, nor a scientist, nor a military expert, nor a polling agent. He's an actor who's done some good movies, some bad movies, but over all, he's just an actor.

Why not get the endorsement of some dog groomer from New Jersey? A plumber? What makes Jon Voight worthy of note in this election season?

Jon Voight rose to fame in Midnight Cowboy, playing a gay prostitute. So he should bring in the floor-humper vote and solidify the base.

"gay prostitute"? erm, no. i can't even make sense how your next thought logically follows this error.

GoodyearPimp: sigdiamond2000: He declared President Obama had "decided to follow his father's footsteps and take us to socialism."

"Believes in social programs" = "Socialism" It's the new "conservative" meme. Given that people actually believe this, it's actually kinda surprising that the R's lose any elections. People that stupid will clearly believe anything.

No shiat!

Tried a drinking game - Every time a 'but but SOCIALISM' comment was made by a Repub, drink...

I don't remember much about the next 60 minutes, but the Doctors tell me it was close! They'd never seen someone THAT drunk!

/DAMN glad I'm in Canada..The evil socialism saved me!

//DRINK!

Odds of Romney prancing around in his underwear with his wiener hanging out for everyone to see just dropped significantly.

I assume Voight got to Florida on a Greyhound bus.

He sat next to Dustin Hoffman.

/every Romney's talkin' bout Mitt

Magorn: Marcus Aurelius: He declared President Obama had "decided to follow his father's footsteps and take us to socialism."

I always knew Jon Voight was a bit loopy.

Here's what makes me INSANE about this whole "Obama's daddy wuz a Socialist" Bullshiat:

Obama met his dad ONCE that he was old enough to remember, he was hardly a significant influence on his life. His Stepdad (Soetoro) was a banker and Oil company executive fer pity's sake. If anyone shaped Obama's values it was his momma and his maternal grandmother and grandfather. Grandmomma was a banker and grandad was a furniture salesman and WWII Vet.

If Obama's skin color were anything but what it is, we'd be talking about what an "All-American" life story he had (Mom was from Ks fer pity's sake)

I think the word you're searching for is "white." Green or purple, or anything other than white, would not have done the job.

rufus-t-firefly: Patton Oswalt:

Now THIS was funny.

If Patton Oswalt was a Republican, it would be proof positive that Republicans can be funny. Anyone know of any political inclinations he has?

John Voight, the male ditz.

I don't care what anybody says, Jon Voight is a wonderful father...

Romney just got endorsed by a man who's last name sounds like a bad special effect in B rated Sci-Fi movie? Really? People enjoy this?

Why couldn't the end of the world have happened last year?

I feel like 20 years from now that's what it will be. And I feel like history books will whitewash the insanity that is our current political landscape for a good long while.

Assuming we make it that far and aren't burning textbooks for warmth.

I don't hate President Obama, but neither do I bank on hope. The opposition is angling itself so that twenty years from now, he will be "Worse than Carter."

Flaming Yawn: If Patton Oswalt was a Republican

How'd I miss this?

If you assume you need the word "was," you almost certainly need the word "were."

If you were capable of understanding the words I wish we were speaking, perhaps in another world, one in which we were sapient, you could tell me what it is you were doing.

Salt Lick Steady: Magorn: "I thought we only brought one actor and comedian here today," Romney told McCain when it was his turn at the mic. "Gosh, that was quite a repartee there, senator. That was fabulous."
Who the mothercuff uses the word "fabulous" in normal repartee?

Shhh. The Gay Agenda has infiltrated them, and they haven't realized it yet.

monoski: I am pretty sure she (Angelina) does not even speak to her dad any more. This whole thing is kind of a non-story.

Actually they've made up in the last few years, for the babbies, but she wasn't raised by him and was never close to him.
