Sounds brilliant to me.

If you get busted, you turn around and "arrest" the seller. Say it's some sort of super-double-plus-secret sting operation.

Actually that would be the best time... unless the feds are making the drop.

He must be black.

Cops buy drugs? Don't they just confiscate evidence from the field and use that instead?

Did he work at the UN?

2012-01-30 01:53:38 PM
Clearly he was undercover and it was all just a misunderstanding.

Hey, he's a capitalist trying to make a living with today's high cost of living. Why do you hate freedom subby?

Cops are the good guys, so he'll probably have the charges dropped & receive a medal for getting those drugs off the streets.
As opposed to the 25 years in a federal prison any of us would get.

He must have ticked off someone in his department pretty badly. Feds get a tip and an easy arrest.

2012-01-30 02:04:25 PM
At least he is still getting paid.

Meh. Sting operation....he was set up...it's a case of mistaken identity...he thought he was in Hawaii buying Poke not Coke...he thought it was his taser...it looked like a weapon....they wouldn't have been running if there were not guilty....

He faces life in prison if convicted? Whoa, dude. That's bad news...for the good citizens of Tennessee, who will have to cough up three-quarters of a million dollars* to incarcerate this guy for attempting to buy 22 pounds of plant residue?

* - $45/day for the next 45 years

Was this his kickback? What kind of dealer sells to a uniformed cop?
I'm gonna go with the guy pissed someone off theory offered above, or he was just too stupid to be allowed in on the deal anymore; but if that's the case, why would they let him live so that he can finger the rest of them? Has to be the first scenario.

shiattynick: What kind of dealer sells to a uniformed cop?

A dealer who knows he's a crooked cop. My guess is the dealer and the cop have done business before.

Weaver95: so how's that war on drugs working out for y'all? not so good, I think. Maybe its time to rethink our approach?

Exactly. We have to redouble our efforts. Life sentences for possession of only certain drugs, even in very small quantities.

/and tiny Earthican flags for others.
