I don't think being Mormon is a requirement to attending, but you do have to follow all the Mormon rules if you go. Therefore, this was just an "isolated incident by an overzealous non-Mormon".

Where I grew up we had one Mormon family. Them dudes had tempers like you wouldn't believe, and they could back it up in a fight. One of them actually fought a guy during a cross country meet. Everybody pretty much knew not to mess with them.

But when not angry, nicest guys ever.

Drat. I was hoping to hear some screams of "oh my heck" from the crowd, or even its hardcore sibling "oh my hell," but it seems that although BYU students may throw things on the floor, they control their potty mouths.

And yes, those are what Mormons say when they're upset.

Let's just say that sportsmanship isn't our best attribute. I've seen plenty of fights during church athletics. That's why the Church shut down the youth athletic program in lots of places, we don't act very well.

Two things about that video...
1. The camerawork in HD format looks...creepy.
2. Said it before, but BYU just doesn't belong in the WCC for basketball. I think you can fit seating capacity crowds of the five or six smallest arenas in that conference in the Marriott Center. That program is far too big to be in that conference.

When you make knee-jerk reactions (i.e. going "independent") to Utah's Pac 12 invite, you have to take what you can get. No one to blame but themselves.

That's a good question. Could a fan of the visiting team infiltrate the stands and start throwing shiat, getting a technical called against the home team?

That's the first thing I thought of. Sooner or later, this will pop up at a key conference game. Road trip to Duke, put on blue costume, mimic sucking, throw stuff, get technical foul called on Duke, profit.
