The Pacers are threatening to be decent. Only took 15 years to get over "the Brawl".

I'm confused, when did LeBron join the Magic?

It could be worse. They could be the Suns.

Last night's Celtics game made me cry.

Pacers beat Magic.
Indiana beat Iowa.
Superbowl is going on 4 blocks away.

The NBA needs to implement an "abandon season" button - that way teams tanking it could just hit the button, not travel, not play and automatically forfeit the remainder of their games.

The race to the ping-pong-balls parade is going to be an annual event - might as well formalize it.

2012-01-30 12:27:22 PM
So are the players tanking just to help Dwight get sent to a real team? Maybe setting up a 3 team trade with New Orleans so they can get a quality center(and expiring contract) in return(unless it's the the Lakers, who will trade Bynum and/or Pau)?

2012-01-30 12:27:39 PM
Trade him already. It isn't worth keeping him for One and Done in the playoffs.

Magic Fan.

FTFA: His team looks to be in freefall right now. In the last four losses, the Magic were clobbered by 31 points by the Boston Celtics, relinquished a 27-point lead to Boston, were routed by 26 by the hapless New Orleans Hornets and were annihilated by 21 by the Pacers.

Put the thesaurus down.

4-15 on free throws. Shaq would feel guilty about that.

Try being the Kings. I'm so far beyond sobbing. In fact, there is no human emotional response possible to sufficiently convey how hard it is to be a fan of that team.

First line from Wiki under the "Origin" section for Hoosier.

The etymology of hoosier is unknown...

Objectively, He really should be looking at the smaller market teams in general.

Imagine him in Memphis or Oklahoma City.

Two thoughts:

1) The Pacers aren't scrubs.
2) Maybe Howard should learn something on offense. Free throws would be good too. He can biatch about his team all he wants, but he hasn't put in effort to reach his maximum potential either.

Trade Besley or D. Williams and a first round pick for Howard. Trade Wesley for a pure jumpshooter.

As much as I actually love the idea of Dwight in Minnesota with Love and Rubio, it's going to take a lot more than that to get him in a trade.

Frankly I'm hoping that the idiot Maloofs go to Anaheim like they desperately want, and that we take whatever sports complex that's going to get built and get either a) some other NBA franchise b) the Oakland A's or c) an MLS team.

The only team in full tank mode right now is the Charlotte Bobcats. When you start Tyrus Thomas at the 3, let Diop sniff the court, or start Matt Carroll, you're just not trying anymore. Yes, I realize there are injuries to Henderson & both DJs but starting Diop over a Kwame Brown fathead is a mistake that should lead to the automatic termination of the entire coaching staff.

You could send D. Williams (the #2 pick in last years draft) and a first rounder or two. I mean some other team will offer too much. It will be interesting to see who lands him and what they gave up to do it.

Do you think that area can support it, though? Kinda far from other big cities(Stockton, Fairfield, Tracy, Modesto, etc) for the number of games an MLB team has and the fact that the stadium capacity is generally at least double an NBA arena.

Actually, I think ticket sales would be no problem. Baseball is cheap compared to other pro sports. It's just the corporate $$$ that's not here.

When I lived in so Cal we were in the Inland Empire - we routinely drove an hour to Anaheim to watch Angels games.

Hmm..he really wants to win now. This has to be a 3 team deal because any winning team would be giving up too many assets.

PlymouthMeetingMall: Hmm..he really wants to win now.

And that's it right there. That's what kills it for the bottom 20 teams in the league.

He feels, probably correctly, that a team like the Clippers would be better.

Blake Griffin is not MARKEDLY better then Kevin Love at this point. They are different styles of players of course. That being said, Love has reached top 5 status this year.

Chris Paul IS a better PG then Rubio for now. That's why he really wants to go there.

If Howard signs/agrees-to-a-trade with any team that does NOT have a top 5 passing PG then he's a fool. Put on top of THAT the want to win now and his options are limited.

This is not a good way to keep a mega star

The Magic are scrambling to find hotel accommodations prior to their game this upcoming Saturday against the Pacers in Indianapolis.

There's just one problem: There are no hotel rooms available in Indianapolis because Super Bowl XLVI will be played there the following day.

"You guys can comment on that and save me my money," Van Gundy told reporters, referring to a potential fine from the league if he said something controversial. "But when you come out with the schedule in December and have a game in the Super Bowl city, lodging might be a problem."
