Sure, when a guy tosses gas on his gf and lights her on fire it's not an accident. But when a girl runs over her husband it's an accident.

A masked man tied her up, and as she was trying to get away she accidentally ran her husband over. Simple!

Where I used to work I parked in a small garage where I used to parallel park. One day I got out and was turning around and got distracted. I apparently thought I put it in Drive but obviously didn't. Stepped on the gas to go and slammed into the brick wall. Not hard enough to hurt the car, but it made quite a loud boom. As I pulled out of the garage all my co-workers were there clapping. How embarrassing.

So I could see how it could happen. If I can make the mistake by just being distracted by my phone ringing at the right time, I could see someone in an agitated state making a similar mistake.

Dude, I just had lunch...

I owned a couple of Isuzu 4x4s between the mid 80s and mid 90s. Given their stellar untarnished
record for unreliability, I had the opportunity of driving lots of courtesy cars, many of which were Dodge Dynasty or its sister the Chrysler Fifth Avenue, so I'm sorta geting a kick out of this.

/Crappy cars all of them

Well, there's yer problem. Do not start any motion with excessive velocity.

Wasn't really fast, was only planning to get up to 5-10 mph as had to turn about 120 degrees to get out of the garage. My butt was where I was originally parked and prob about 1 - 2 feet off the wall. Mainly startled me and mad a nice boom. More embarrassing than anything, like starting a car already running, or not knowing/forgetting there is a concrete stopper in front of you and decide to pull straight out of the space and run into the stopper. Sadly I've done both those too.

You should look into taking the bus to work. I don't think cars are your "thing".

Would if I could, but that's not really an option. I seriously doubt I'm the only person that has made multiple minor mistakes with a car. :) The only ones that really matter are the ones where someone/thing gets hurt/damaged.

And the chances of someone/thing getting hurt/damaged go up dramatically when you routinely run into things due to having your head wedged firmly in your ass. Some people just can't drive.

There is nothing wrong with that unless they do it anyway.

Well considering I've had State Farm for 50 years and never had an accident claim I think I might still drive anyway,

People who believe it's inconsequential to not be aware what gear their car is in probably should not be driving. Seriously.

Another person whom has never made a mistake behind the wheel of a car. We have all made mistakes and whether minor or major they are mistakes. If we stopped all drivers that have made a stupid mistake behind the wheel then we wouldn't need roads or cars.

As I said initially I can see how she could make the mistake as she was agitated. The problem is that she decided to peel out and ran over him. I also stated I have done similar and other common events, all of which involved no damage to anyone or property. Unless there is damage I think you would be hard pressed to find someone whom would obsess over it. I am sure if you have been driving for any length of time and are honest with yourself you've done it yourself.

I can honestly say that no, I have not done it myself. I have never hit a wall, parked car, curb or any other stationary object while driving my car. I have been hit by morons like yourself that have no business driving though.

Since I've never wrecked a car I suspect you will have to worry more about people of your own gender and age. I truly hope you never do make a mistake behind the wheel but at some point it will happen and I hope your as fortunate as me where you can thankfully say the only thing damaged was pride.

Yes but I strongly suspect there is a vast difference in age and thus why I said age and gender. I just turned 61 a couple days ago and by umad and capt's bravado I am going with the age of a young male. Which would be 20 to early 30's. Men tend to mellow after that point and thus why I suspect their bigger danger is also young males that presume their skills are better than they are. Which is why the insurance company rates are much higher for younger males as they cause more accidents. For example my 2011 DTS cost me about $280 every 6 months for full coverage with $0 deductible as I am in a low risk category with a low risk car.

I tore the door off my truck once by reversing into a concrete column with the door open. Never hit a pedestrian though. Well, in accident anyway.

The problem is that you seem to think that it is somehow ok to make mistakes while at the wheel of a car... it isn't, but many people occasionally make them. Me included. However there is a world of difference between dumb mistakes such as hitting a turn signal when you meant to activate the windshield washer or having to drive an extra 10 minutes because you missed your exit and taking off in the wrong direction because you didn't know what gear your car was in. In the first case you look stupid in the second case people can get hurt. You hit a wall because you got lucky. In another circumstance someone could have been behind you and you could have hurt them.

There is this attitude in North America that if you make an honest mistake than you are not really to blame because "it could happen to anybody". In most of Europe, I don't know about the rest of the world, you'd have to explain to the cops and then to a judge why you made that mistake and why your license shouldn't be suspended.
