Speaking of that, has anyone ever been to a World of Beer franchise? Milwaukee is getting one soon, I'm wondering if its worth being excited about. There are already so many options for great beer, not sure if we need another.

Getting Dark Lord has gotten absolutely absurd. I love that beer. It's one of my top 3 ever. Even I refuse to go to Dark Lord Day since 2008 though. Sure lines were hours long then and I debated whether to bother for six 22 oz beers, but it was fun to talk to people and exchange samples of other beers while we waited. I went for 3 years running (2006 - 2008).

Then it got even more ridiculous with tickets you have to buy ahead of time just to get the privilege of standing in line so you can buy Dark Lord. From what I hear, it didn't really help with the wait times. It just made things cost more. At the 2011 Dark Lord, the tickets sold out online within moments of going on sale. Then they started showing up on e-bay. Fark that.

Then... not satisfied with only one giant cluster fark of an event each year, 3 Floyd's made 2011's anniversary release basically another Dark Lord day type event. Fark that.

I wonder if Oz Terry, Evan Ruff, and Stephen Arthur are beer drinkers? And more importantly, is that their profession?

Damn straight. Just because it's high IBUs doesn't mean you can skimp on the other aspects. It's like Steel Reserve but it costs 4 times as much.

The good ones don't skimp. A good double IPA has a lot of malt in it too. Otherwise it'd just taste like hop water. No one wants that. Sure it's a bitter beer, but in a good way.

Comparing hopped up craft beers to a malt liquor is just idiotic.
