F*ck Tebow and the ESPN executive's dick he rode in on.

No, the game doesn't matter.

The thing I've always hated about the Pro Bowl is I've always associated it with the end of football season. Now comes the long wait till August. Plus, the only people playing the game anyway is the qb and recievers. And the other players have this air about them like the game is something annoying they have to do during their vacation. I don't blame them though. I wouldn't want to risk injury either when nothing is at stake.

No Tom Brady?

No Pierre-Paul?

No thanks.

If a football game is played in Hawaii, and no one watches, does it make a sound?

Yes- a giant sucking sound. You can hear it from the mainland, if you listen closely.

As much fun as All-Star Games can be, most of them have become total wastes of time. Not to mention the NFL automatically kills off a chunk of their audience by (a) playing it long after anyone cares, and (b) not playing it with players from the Super Bowl, who are typically some of the better & more deserving players of the season.

2012-01-29 11:53:59 AM
Nobody cares....and they care even less since they moved it from after the Super Bowl to before the Super Bowl.

Outrageous Muff: F*ck Tebow and the ESPN executive's dick he rode in on.

Two things:

1) I was indifferent on the whole Tim Tebow issue for the longest time.

2) But ever since he and the rest of the Broncos beat the f*cking Steelers/Stealers in the playoffs, I like the dude.

I don't have a problem with Tebow as a man or a player, I do have a problem with the unending hardon ESPN seems to have for the man. The constant "OMG Tebow" line is starting to make me hate the image of Tebow, and image is everything.

Whoa a game where the players are only playing to get a bonus and actively avoiding hitting so they don't get hurt?

Wow, I'm intrigued....tell me more

I'll watch the highlights on NFL Network tomorrow to see if one of the coaches let a defensive lineman score a running TD or let a running back throw one, but otherwise, not much chance I'll watch it either.

A basic game with basic calls. Anyone want to run an off-tackle play?

Of course it doesn't matter as a game. Only for individuals and their legacy.

2012-01-29 02:05:36 PM
Make the Wedge mandatory for all kickoffs and I'll watch.

2012-01-29 02:16:36 PM
Yawn.

I'll probably show back up later just to make fun of it with everyone.

I fully intend on never seeing the ProBowl.

It does make me wonder why they don't have the mandatory "1 player" rule the rest of the sports have. (At least I *think* the NBA does it, might be wrong....)

Just remember, nobody cares and nobody is watching, but, somehow in 2011 it got a 7.7 rating which is comparable to a bad NBA Finals or World Series matchup rating, or double even the best Stanley Cup final rating, or better than half of the BCS bowl games.

Hi becks, you really are gonna watch this are you?

It is entertaining to watch the thread fill up with everyone saying how worthless, boring, and unwatchable the ProBowl is.

...and how they aren't going to spend even a minute paying any attention to it.

I think this is quite entertaining in and of itself :-)

I, for one, enjoy watching the game called football as played by the NFL. Yay!

LESS THAN TWO HOURS TO GO WOOHOO

It's still better than any NBA game, and I wish that David Stern and Clay Bennett die from painful ass cancer. May they both burn in hell.

There's a whole lotta this going on in my head.

Hoping the combined score goes into triple digits.

I'll probably go watch at at the local pub. To me football is little more than an excuse for beer drinking.

If it did only one player could come from each team. Lame.

I think these football players should have to play a different sport. Hockey would be great. Rugby maybe?

alwaysjaded: And the other players have this air about them like the game is something annoying they have to do during their vacation.

Pretty sure damn near every NFL contract contains a Pro Bowl clause where if they get selected, they get a bonus. So, the players care inasmuch that they make the team, but you're prolly right about not caring about having to actually PLAY in the game.

It's been said many times before: Have the pro bowl be like college/HS "All American" teams: honorary title, no actual team or game; then have the players selected engage in a non-contact, non-injury threatening skills competition tailored to each positions skillset and specialty. Hardcore fans would LOVE it, casuals would ask wtf this crap was.

/around here, we call it the "Faux Bowl"
//I'm responsible for the "Superb Owl" at the party I'm going to
///will be made out of rice krispie treat and puppy chow (the chocolate/peanut butter/chex kind, not dog food)

2012-01-29 06:39:02 PM
Although I watch football all season, I truly have not paid attention to the probowl for years. Do they do the competitions before the game anymore? Like QBs run around some cones then try to hit targets, and defense guys try to sack the dummy qb in a certain amount of time, and whatever? Those were always the best parts to me.
