American Decency Association: how sad. a falling down remake for the truly worthless

I blame your lack of capitalization for my failure to read and comprehend your post.

I'll check it out.

2012-01-28 11:06:33 PM
I liked this movie when it was called Super so maybe I'll see it again.

2012-01-28 11:08:52 PM
This will be glorious!

Is it wrong to smile and giggle at something so awful?

2012-01-28 11:10:47 PM
World's Greatest Dad was pretty outrageous, and I generally can't stand Robin Williams. Went to see Goldthwait premier it at Alamo Drafthouse in Austin. Humble, funny dude who deserves a second chance.

Notabunny: Is it wrong to smile and giggle at something so awful?

Not when it's great satire.

I won $100 during a contest because I can sound just like him.
I've always liked the guy.

Best blurb ever on a videocassette: "Shakes the Clown is the Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies."

2012-01-28 11:14:19 PM
How funny. It appears to be guilty of the very thing it's satirizing.

2012-01-28 11:17:28 PM
I bet it gets super artsy, and in the end it was all in his mind.

serial_crusher: So, basically a modernization of Falling Down?

That came to mind but it is like Falling Down + Death to Smoochie. I am not a big going to the movies guy but I will see that one immediately.

Socrates' Daimon: How funny. It appears to be guilty of the very thing it's satirizing.

It does?

I really enjoyed it when I saw it last September.

Caught him doing standup at the Tampa Improv (Ybor) a few years ago. Chatted with him for a bit after the show. It's insane how laid back this dude is in real life. Nothing like his on screen persona from the 80s. His set was pretty disappointing, however. Twenty minutes of re-hashing just about every joke from his CD that was released back in the 90s.

Not that it was a bad CD. His Polar Bear skit has me cracking up everytime.

"They said he'd been harassing the polar bear", hehehe

Sweet Jesus, shut up and take my money, already. I'm not just looking forward to seeing it - I'm considering it as a model for my actions following a diagnosis of a terminal disease.

Because who doesn't want to shoot Octomom, or Kate, or any of those little biatches on "My Super Sweet 16", or any willing participant in "Jersey Shore", any of the "Housewives" shows, and so on, right in the farking face?

2012-01-28 11:25:56 PM
He got really fat. How come he talking funny?

DrZiffle: Best blurb ever on a videocassette: "Shakes the Clown is the Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies."

Well damn. With that much hype,I've gotta check it out.

I remember that girl who got the wrong car. That was quite a long time ago. I did want to shoot her in the face. And then shoot her parents for raising such a spoiled, ungrateful coont.

That made me laugh out loud. Best laugh all day.

Falling Down meets Dexter with a dash of Bonnie and Clyde.

I'm in.

Sleeping Dogs Lie, World's Greatest Dad....this looks to be the third of an awesome Bobcat trilogy of really dark comedies. I don't count "Shakes" because it's more slapstick than anything. I don't know why people keep giving Bobcat money to make movies, but I'm glad someone is.
//and super props to Bruce Hornsby for his cameo in WGD

By the way, I have no clue why you brought up Natural Born Killers. I see no connection.

I may be an army man, and I generally don't condone senseless violence...

But since killing every one of these decrepit makes perfect Darwinian sense, I prematurely give this movie two... nay... THREE thumbs up. Why? Who hasn't imagined offing any one of the groups in that preview!? And hell, I like the dark comedy.

/ I don't know where the third thumb came from. Probably someone from the Westboro Baptist church. Man I'd like some alone time with a .50cal and
// Slashes cuz I'm all slashy
/// Slashes cuz Slash rocks... except that superbowl appearance.

Holy shiat, it's like he read my mind. If I ever get diagnosed with some horrible disease, I'm going on a killing spree the likes of which has never been seen.

Looks like Falling Down meets Heathers.

I can already see the liberal and righty media getting their panties in a twist over this one. Stars don't like to be mocked (or killed).

2012-01-28 11:51:37 PM
Is it me, or does that chick look like a young Reese Witherspoon?

/I'll watch it when it shows up on HBO. Can't wait.
