I've always thought 'hairstyle' implied a way of wearing hair that some people might find appealing and want to emulate. This does not qualify.

This article leaves out the hat hairstyle or the "not doing anything with your hair and just putting a hat on it" style.

It's always in vogue with men.

Exactly...this is supposed to be a swoon-encouraging montage of "style," not a "kill it with fire!" inducing slideshow.

Seconded. Else the writer would not have waited until the 90's to mention long hair parted in the middle.

I wear mine no part combed straight back no greasy kid stuff. Learned to ride in a no helmet law state. It just kind of happened and I have worn it this way for more than 30 years.

Funny thing is when I get out of the shower I run my fingers thru it and I look like I just came from the barber shop. Wake up in the morning it looks freshly blow dried and brushed.

The only "product" I have ever used was Crew Comb to make the USMC JROTC flat top stand perfect till school was over.

I'm pretty much ugly as a mud fence. But I have perfect hair that most people would kill to have.

Julius Caesar was most likely bald, as this bust of him, the only one done during his lifetime, shows:

After his death and subsequent deification, he began to get the George Clooney nice hair treatment.

The real joke was that the name "Caesar" meant "hairy" in Latin.

So there's the great debate by historians through the ages to this very day: did the ancient Romans give that branch of his family the nickname "hairy" because at one time they were hairy, or more as a backhanded joke because they were not?
