By remarkable coincidence, Operation Portable Stovepipe is the name given to the San Antonio Police Department's investigation into Jerry Sandusky taking underaged kids to the Alamo Bowl

Lying beside Mr. Macfarlane was the foot-square box, the only "secret" in the whole demonstration. What is in the box is the inventor's mystery. This box weighs about twelve pounds.

No apps? All you needed to do was keep a crate filled with birds in the car to throw at pigs as you pass them by.

So, how did they manage to get the always nearby gay companion to fit into an iPhone?

While this was a marvelous feat of engineering for its time, they fail to mention that the reception was constantly marred by what researchers referred to as "rhythmic slapping sounds."

Not the first wireless phone but the first wireless broadcast phone. Phones that used transmission through the ground (each set had a grounding spike) with range well above 100 yards had already been invented and were in use. They failed to catch on because they didn't work in urban areas that had too much interference due to metal pipes and wires, but they would have been great for farms, etc.

How about Bell's "Photophone"? Not the phone with a TV, but AGB's invention from 1880. It transmits sounds using light. Bell considered it his greatest invention, but it didn't really go anywhere until fiber optics came along.

/Does a photophone demo on a regular basis for school groups: a flashlight, a section of PVC pipe with a piece of mylar stretched over one end, a solar cell, and a little Radio Shack amp/speaker. It blows them away every time.
