Shocked, I am. Completely shocked.

The good governor has a book to sell. That's pretty much all you need to know.

strathcona: We get it, Gov Brewer. The black man scared you challenged you.

And the only adult in the conversation, as always, stayed cool. They're going to have to do better than Gov. Brewer to rattle the President.

strathcona: We get it, Gov Brewer. The black man scared you When our black president comes to town, you can exploit racial tensions in America by pretending to feel threatened just so people will buy your feeble-brained book.

FTFY.

Conservatives are gullible racists.

The best part about this is that come reelection time she will be saying, "Reelect the woman who faced down Obama in a tense showdown of wills. and won."

I reiterate: the thing that I find amusing about this "showdown" is that folks are upset that the President didn't hide behind interviews, didn't put out a book, didn't air his laundry, but told someone to their face how he felt, and this is supposedly a bad thing.

Bad, only because there's no proof of the words spoken, only their effect on a woman whose commitment to fiscal responsibility was to hook her state into 30 years of rent payments on State buildings, as opposed to looking at the tax structure in a state that saw an amazing housing boom. Brewer is upset that she didn't get a sound bite along with her photo-op, and is upset that she got told off by the HNIC, and got herself flushed and quivery about it on someone's long lens.

She thought that she'd bait the President into a confrontation, and she got told off, and it wasn't to her liking. Brewer is a perennial victim, and it's always someone else's fault for her failings. At some point, it would be nice if someone just took some damn responsibility. She pushed, she got told, in most playgrounds, you get whupped in public, you pick up your teeth and go home, and preserve some dignity, in this case, she got off even easier--she got told off, and to her face, and now she's screeching to the playground about what a meanie face the President was to her, as opposed to just keeping words to themselves.

TFA: "She said Obama walked away from her while she was in mid-sentence and even told one Phoenix television station she felt "a little bit threatened" by the encounter.

I pointed this out in a prior thread, but this conversation was with the President, in full view of the press and a massive security contingent. And she's "threatened"? What, Obama is going to backhand her? Seekrit muslin kung-fu her down?

Gov. Brewer: The idea of a 'dog whistle' is that only your 'dogs' hear it. If everyone can hear it, it's just a whistle, and all you're doing is calling attention to what an idiot you are.

Who's taking bets that this was a candidacy test? If Brewer's story resonated with the public and actually got people on her side against Obama, I bet the GOP would have rallied behind her and FAST.

Dear Mr. President,

Welcome to Arizona!

You've arrived in a state at the forefront of America's economy - and her future. We were at the brink. We were at the bottom of the list in job creation. Today, we have a balanced budget and we're in the top 10 for job creation.

I'm proud of that hard-won recovery - the result of many tough decisions, courage and perseverance.

My hope is while you are here you will have a chance to see our tremendous results first hand.

We both love this great country, but we fundamentally disagree on how to best make America grow and prosper once again. I'd love an opportunity to share with you how we've been able to turn Arizona around with hard choices that turned out to be the right ones.

And, of course, my offer to visit the border - and buy lunch - still stands!

With respect,

Jan

Might as well have been an Amazon gift certificate.
This woman should just keep a low profile and limit her politicking to introducing other speakers until her term expires.
And get someone to help her with her meds.

But both sides are just as bad (even if only the Republicans did something bad)... so vote Republican!

Republicans all know Obama was being "Uppity" and he should be "Shown his place".

Almost 1/4 of our Presidents didn't graduate from college. George Washington didn't. Andrew Jackson didn't. Neither did Harry Truman. Abraham Lincoln only had about 1 year of formal schooling of any kind. Jan Brewer is just trying to revive that fine tradition. Seen from that perspective, Jan Brewer is more qualified to be President than Obama.

Arizona has actually recovered from the Recession, even running in the black with a surplus. So how is that a failure again? The politics of ignorance, you has it.
