Well where else can you get a 100 to 1 return on your investment?

The fricking government has a fricking printing press.

Uh another example of liberal media bias? What's the big deal? It's only like an increase of 58% per year. Non story.

Impasse: jackthezomber: Successful people want to protect their investmentssocialize the risk.

All they did was offer money in return for favorable policies. You were welcome to do the same thing (whatever job is it is you do), but your industry decided not to offer bribes. Now you're on the outside, looking in, and hating on wall street for making a good go of it. The politics of envy, right here on fark.

It's so weird that this coincided with a loosening of restrictions that caused a financial shiatstorm and that those same contributors were given a government bailout to protect them from that shiatstorm.

Perhaps if we loosen regulations on that industry they will have the freedom to do what is right. If that doesn't work we might have to lower taxes.

Hmm.

I seriously doubt that any business was put that kind of money into anything without knowing there's a return. I wonder what the return was. . .

/golden parachute, anyone?
//I bet the businesses consider ROIs on those contributions too, just like they would an investment in equipment, or people, or. . . .

And which person who wants to be elected President in 2012 has raised the most money from the wall street crowd?

(hint: he is a democrat)

Extended to even more depressingly reflect reality.

If only there were some way in which we could avoid politicians having to whore themselves out to the highest bidder if they're to have any chance of being re-elected. Some way in which campaigns could be funded without legalized bribery... But how?
