That Condor looked like it was a VTOL craft.

"Anything to declare?"

"Yes, this giant shiat in my underwear".

As scary as these landings are, this take off in a storm is way more terrifying.

Flying isn't scary to me. As long as you're flying, you're not on the ground. It's the parts where the plane says hello or goodbye to the ground that scare me.

How did the Condor keep it's front tiny wheels is a quandary.

Isn't one of the reasons airports have multiple runways facing different directions so planes don't have to take off and land in heavy crosswinds?

I was thinking that, if the pilot had decided to drive there, maybe he ought to slow down just a bit.

/ Long rollout.

some more related videos got me to this pretty awesome STOL competition video.

I half expected to see the pilot leap out and kiss the ground after that Condor landing.

The second half of the video is takeoffs -- and yes, they're scary too.

Mildy nervewracking at worst. Planes can take off in the rain.

I snuck into "Hot Shots" thinking it might be cool.
It was so retarded, after ten minutes I snuck back out.

No offense intended but did we not just have the exact same video posted a day or two ago? Is there such a thing as reverse alzheimers? Have I gone into the future only to see the past? Screw it, imma go back to lulzcats videos anyway. kthxbai!

That was, X-TREME! ? Is that what pilots who moonlight as fmx riders do for their day job? Is there some kind of sensor that let the pilot know that his front gear had touched down or could he feel it? Not that there is much there but mind = blown.

Nothing spectacular for those guys...
One of my favorite sayings from my flying days...
I'd rather be on the ground wishing I was in the air than in the air wishing I was on the ground

I watched that whole thing to see lightning hit the ground about 10 miles off in the distance? Next time you post a plane video and reference a lightning strike make damn sure it'shiatting the plane!

Headwinds suck except during takeoff and landing.

/any wind is a headwind enroute.
