You'd think with a dozen rabbit's feet between them they'd be luckier than that

How do they hear?

Awful!

You think magicians just pick up any old rabbit out of a hat and hope its ears stay on? They need to test them out first. These are the ones who didn't make the cut.

With photo of what a rabbit is supposed to look like. You know. In case you've never seen one.

Silly to pass them on-they would have made a great rabbit pie!

Alright, which one of you Farkers posted this?

Why not make a stew? I hear they are great as long as you add some beef or chicken stock.

"smashing rabbits"? Well maybe that's their problem.

I'd take them, and make them pets. Unlike farkers wanting to cook 'em. Hell, they're better than most people.

Oi, what's this then? Three rabbits from different Marks living together? The General won't like that.

Jeremiahe: 2nd pic: what a rabbit with ears may look like.

My rabbit doesn't look like that and in fact has ears that are kind of short. I was happy with my rabbit until I realized it was deformed. I think I'm going to throw it away now.

They may have belonged to a magician and he had no way of removing them from his hat.

2012-01-27 06:01:36 PM
Was there a note? I can see where you'd jump to the conclusion that the malformed ears was the reason they were abandoned, but maybe the owner just didn't want them, even with perfect ears.

I think that they are adorable. Then again, I have a soft spot in my heart for "broken" pets (currently have two cats, one with a crooked tail and the other with only one eye).

But people suck.

Where my next bunny is coming from, after we get our bunny adjusted to the new place and build her an AWESOME BUNNY FORT OF AWESOME to play in.

She already has a cage setup larger then our bed, and the run of the room about half the day. And outside play when it's warmer (for our sake more than hers).

Ah well, at least these bunnies got some good PR and probably awesome homes.

Honest question, why would RABBITS need a shelter? I can understand dogs and cats because if they don't learn to forage/hunt, odds are they'll starve. But rabbits? They're tough to spot and eat grass. All they need to survive are the instincts "run from danger" and "eat green stuff". Odds are none will die of old age but that's what life is like in the wild.

Rabbits are sometimes domesticated. Mine could defend herself *somewhat* in the wild but she didn't grow up there. As opposed to my SO's sister's cat (which was adopted as a stray, found ingenious ways of getting outside, and could handle himself just fine thank you) my bunny was likely* bred to be docile and chill and besides never learned survival skills like the cat obviously did. She can instinctively build a tunnel pretty awesomely... but she was also raised with cats and doesn't fear all that much as far as other living things go.

Her AWESOME BUNNY FORT, by the way, is going to be indoors. She has a harness and we'll let her go if she's in a very decently fenced in area, but she's still our damn pet.

As for outdoor rabbit hutches, I understand them for raising rabbits for fur or food, I don't get them if you're keeping your rabbit for a pet. Except for contained outdoor play time. Or if you have a flemish giant and who is gonna f--k with that. But I'm not an expert on rabbits, I just love one. And she does have a tendency to get spooked now and then and bolt - and I'd rather her not bolt where I can't find her anymore. She comes when I call her, but not if she's especially freaked.

Also, bunny poop is about the best ingredient for compost there is. So unlike my roommate's cat, the bunny pulls her own weight around the house that way.

* hell if I know, but more than likely considering

Ok thanks for clearing that up Daily Mail, I wouldn't have known what a bunny with two ears looks like if you hadn't provided the visuals.

Domestic rabbits have about the same wild instincts as domestic dogs & cats. Turn loose a tame bunny, and you'll find the remains on your porch the next day, after the local dogs play with it a while. They don't have the "run from danger" and "eat green stuff" instincts, you see; they've learned that "the wire thingy keeps danger away" and "eat the little pellets that come in a dish" instead.

So, no. They need a shelter just like dogs and cats.

My bunny has "eat green things" instincts... we also feed her green things, though.

She also has "eat dead leaves" instincts when we take her outside, which I'm not a big fan of and don't get.

But m'bunny get spoiled by our garden each year. She definitely had a sad look on her face when we started giving her greens that *weren't* fresh basil or whatever.
