We get skunks in our yard all the time. A live trap, some peanut butter, and a clever husband solve the problem for free. He's relocated about a dozen skunks in the past few years.

(I recorded the first two relocations because I was positive he'd get sprayed and I wanted the video for YouTube. No luck though!)

Happened at one of the nearby ocean lab buildings here. For some reason the architect constructed these "gutters"(?) on the outside walls, wide and square with just a little space at the bottom, perfect for varmints to nest in. A skunk crawled into one and had her babies. Bet it cost a lot more than $628 to evict the family. We got raccoons, possums, gators and wild pigs out here too, among other things.

When my parents retired, they bought a mobile home and farmland up in Oklahoma. A skunk got into the AC vent in their doublewide A neighbor boy (13 years old) coaxed it out with a stick covered in peanut butter for $20 and a Dr Pepper.

Toss some mothballs in there, they'll go away on their own. Skunks hate the smell of mothballs. Works with snakes too.
