I heard of this object a few years back. I first thought it was a rock formation formed from a lava slide, but a friend of mine said that is not very common in that area.

If it is a UFO, it must have been a woman driving that thing.

/it's ok

I think I've seen this movie. It's long and boring and involves Dustin Hoffman.

Is this a viral story for the movie "Battleship"?

My guess is it's a street lamp from an advanced civilization:

Yeah, The Abyss was too long. But it was still a pretty good movie, just for the effects alone.

My first thought, too, but:

Noted as "Obstacle No. 73" on Polish navigation charts, and classified as a war grave, Gustloff rests at 55.0729°N, 17.4213°E, about 30 km (16 nmi; 19 mi) offshore, east of Łeba (17.33E) and west of Władysławowo (18.24E). It is one of the largest shipwrecks on the Baltic Sea floor. In order to protect the property on board the war grave-wreck of the MV Wilhelm Gustloff and to protect the environment the Polish Maritime Office in Gdynia has forbidden diving within a 500 m (1,600 ft) radius of the wreck.

This thing turned up. My first reaction was to tell the guys that we have a UFO here on the bottom," said Peter Lindberg, the leader of the amateur treasure hunters.

..
"Right now, we know about 20,000 objects, mostly shipwrecks, in the Baltic Sea. But I think there may be more than 100,000,"

Yeah, its got to be a UFO. It is the only rational answer.

And thus the lost realm of Rl'yeh was opened and the dark lord Cthulu stepped forth to claim the Earth. He then stated his reign to bring about 10,000 years of darkness. Hail the Dark Lord Cthulu, long may he reign.

So once they open it and unleash the scary we can all have our 2012 doomsday prediction come true. I hope it is a face eating kind of alien rather than some miserable little bacteria that kills us all quietly.

The last bacteria that tried to kill me was not quiet. Well, I guess the bacteria was quiet; the effect on me, not so much.

I know it's the only rational answer, but that doesn't stop me from thinking how awesome it would be to be alive when humans first discovered something from an extraterrestrial civilization (if we ever do).

I think it may fall into the "book was so much better than the movie" category, and thus, expectations far outweighed the results.

People who believe in alien wrecks on earth bother me.

Why would an alien species, capable of interstellar flight, hit a farking planet?

Why would a species, capable of space flight, do this:

Don't assume that just because they are (presumably) highly advanced, that they won't have their idiots and hot-doggers.
