You know who else had a hidden life of luxury in Berlin and Bavaria?

Wait. . . shiat.

2012-01-27 08:47:54 AM
How big was the kitchen's oven?

He was rich enough to live his live in colour, when everyone else had to live in black and white.

I'm glad we've advanced to the point where even the poorest of the poor can share in the experience of colour.

In the same vein as this, they just released rare color pictures of depression-era America (new window)

Since it's The Mirror shouldn't that be "colour" ?

What?! The poor have colour now too? This is an outrage.

That study looks exactly like one of the rooms from Inglorious Basterds.

he lived in style, that's for sure.

Kodachrome pictures really look so much better than anything else. Thanks

It's not so rare when the same "rare" pictures of Hitlers stuff is released every year.

I don't know why Hitler is so vilified? After all, he did kill Hitler.

Best In The World: "A slight daily unconscious luxury is hardly ever wanting to the dwellers in civilization; like the gentle air of a genial climate, it is a perpetual minute enjoyment." - Walter Bagehot

What's tha problem, homes? Like, I ain't saying Hitler was good fo his peeps but it's obvious that his popularity was undenieable. Do U agree wit all yo politicians? Problem not but they got a right 2 be ballin. Hitler wasn't even a democrat HE WAS tha king of the Germans and when UR a king U can't live in a shack & assume a life of humbeltry. Cuz U do that & U lose tha power. A king is only as good as his subjects & he stands above them like a diety. Thurrs a reason Zeus chucked thunder from a mountain. But follow tha script: Let's say UR kind lives like a popper. Now what, biatches? It defies human nature. Look at all the Muslims. They worship Osama Bin Laden, he lives in a cave, & they are into all sorts of wacked out unforgivable and aggregious behavior. Cuz they like "whats I got 2 lose? The best thurrr is is someday getting to sleep on the best bail of hay in the cave?"

So wit Kings U have to have a palace cuz it inspires UR ppl 2 some day think they can be a prince & have a royal wedding. Look at tha British, bro. They had an empire. Taught India English. They even taught Hong Kong English and that's cuz all the sailors n' shiat believed that they 2 could 1day live in a palace. Every1 wants 2 ball hard.

Hitler thought the same way but he just went about somethings tha wrong way.

Why?

I don't get the hate for certain things. Like when Americans went to war with the Nazis finally, we changed dachshunds to "liberty pups" for some retarded reason.

Back in the day, when all the European royals were intermarried, you would literally be fighting your brothers and cousins. But they were still your pals after the war. Somewhere along the way, we lost that.

Hitler was a despicable man, but even a genocidal clock can have nice taste in ties.

These photos were released at least 7 months ago, so I'm not quite sure why today's article says they're being seen "for the first time".

Association. The brain is optimized to make connections, so it makes even superfluous ones. The 'stache and the swastika are two innocuous things that will be taboo in Western culture for a long time.

Damn, you beat me to it. Was going to say I kept looking for the Tardis in that picture. Its rather astonishing how perfectly Dr. Who managed to recreate that room.

I don't get it. Buddhism has used the manji longer than the Germans used the schwastika, and the maji is spinning the other direction and looks more square. We should take it back.

The mustache too. I think we should have a "Stacheathon" for peace to raise money for racial harmony by all growing square mustaches.

Tatsuma: he lived in style, that's for sure.

He really didn't. History distinctly records how spartan he tended to be.That's like saying Obama lives in style; he doesn't, he lives like a first-world leader, none of whom reside in a shack with Ikea furnishings.

Looking at those photos, I don't see anything that would be out of place in my grandmother's home - and her family have never even been upper middle class by any stretch of the imagination.

shiat, nobody tell the Mirror about the White House. Or Number 10, or 24 Sussex, or Gracie Mansion, or ANYBODY's governor's mansion, or the Palais de l'Élysée, or anywhere else world leaders live. I mean, this could be a huge scandal. Hitler might just be the tip of the iceberg.

Though it is possible that some were colourized, the sort of washed out look could
also be due to the deterioration of the emulsion over time.

The "study" is in the Reichskanzlei, and there have been many pictures of it, including color pictures. That's why you've all seen it. The picture of the entry table with the hat and some mail on it has been published before as well.

The labels on these pictures are awful.
