I'm really surprised that Chris Walken isn't on this list.

Also, I'm surprised they never mentioned Peter Weller's Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension role, probably one of the greatest cult Sci-Fi films of all time.
Also, Den Of Geek, "Grimer Wormtongue?" Really?

And list fails utterly without Harry Dean Stanton.

How is Sigourney Weaver a "cult" actress? Or Kurt Russell? Those guys are pretty mainstream

Dee Wallace (formerly Dee Wallace-Stone). Her biggest role was in E.T. , but her cult roles include The Stepford Wives, The Howling, Cujo, Critters, and Alligator II: The Mutation.

I got to meet my favorite cult actor a couple of years ago, when he did a reading with Will Self at the Festival of Authors:
Helluva nice guy, with a very sharp wit. Half the audience was made up of giggling schoolgirls who were there because of his Harry Potter association, and you could tell he was embarrassed by it. The other writers were just glad that the chairs were full for a change.

I guess I have a different view of "cult actors" but those that beat Bruce Campbell are still some of my favorite actors. But I still consider Sigourney Weaver and Christopher Lee to be more main stream actors.

Peter Weller's Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension role, probably one of the greatest cult Sci-Fi films of all time.
Ok, for years I've been hearing how awesome this movie is. Finally, last year I taped it when it came on one of the movie channels. That movie is absolutely unwatchable. First off, there isn't a whole lot of science fiction in it aside from how Buckaroo Bonzai does his experiment at the beginning which happens to bring back Christopher Llloyd in a bad lizard person mask. After that, it's just any old "catch the bad guy before he does X" plot. That, and Bonzai's big thing was that not only was he a brilliant scientist, he was in a rock band full of 80s pretty boys. Yadda yadda yadda, you've got Jeff Golblum in a bright red cowboy outfit.
Totally horrible movie. Ice Pirates has more science fiction in it.

List isn't totally worthless :
Lance Henriksen
Michael Ironside
Danny Trejo
and of course Bruce Campbell
Are all good examples of "cult" movie actors but Sigourney Weaver ? Hugo Weaving ? The "Alien" franchise is hardly a cult status and ditto for the "Matrix" and "Lord of the Rings".

For the last ten years of course, Rickman's time has been largely taken up with playing Professor Snape in the Harry Potter films. These have kept him very much in the public eye, his performances throughout playing beautifully to his prickly, drawly qualities. Now free of this commitment, it will be extremely interesting to see what he comes up with next.
Alan Rickman would be a great 12th Doctor.

When I think of cult movie stars I think of Divine, Mink Stole....and that guy who played the Baltimore foot stomper.
All the actors on the list have been in major motion pictures......what makes them a cult actor?

I want Alan Rickman to slowly wave his arms in the air and look surprised - as I slowly walk backwards.
