Internet. Serious business.

So not only did he lie to cover up the fact that he supports a piece of legislation he knows nothing about... but his lie also proves that he doesn't know nearly enough to be voting on the topic...

Ya politics.

To be fair, they were clogging up the tubes pretty bad.

Deleted comments on HIS facebook wall? I'm fine with that. He has control over what appears on it, he can delete whatever comments he doesn't like.

It's too bad he doesn't know how the internet works. Then maybe he wouldn't have posted those comments in the first place and not have to delete them with an implausible excuse. He should probably quit the internet to avoid future embarrassment.

FTFA: The minister added that ACTA is a subject that needs more explaining.

Too little, too late, dipshiat.

The time for explaining ACTA would be BEFORE you sign it, not as an afterthought just because your facebook page blew up.

Defence Minister Mart Laar, the leader of the IRL party

Well, there's your problem. Of course he doesn't know how the Internet works. It's against his political philosophy.

Well someone tell the Christians that if ACTA passes it's only a matter of time before Muslims (like Mr. Barrack Hussein Obama ) gain control and delete all the Bibles from the internet!

ya know what....I believe he believed it.

To be fair, the author did put this at the end of the story, so, yea, the guy may be FB Dumb, but, not all that bad of a person overall.:

Disclaimer. I'm a member of the IRL party Mart Laar leads, and I'm a lifelong fan of his. I don't think any Estonian politician has worked that hard for the country, and I maintain Mart Laar has been the best prime minister Estonia's had. But a laugh a day keeps the doctor away, and I'm sure he laughed at himself after this saga as well.

He should have just lowered the font size, or at least removed bold from anything that was bold.

It could and should be spun in many possible directions. "Obama's New Muslim World Order is gonna shut down FreeRepublic.com!" "Corporatist Fascist Stormtroopers are gonna shut down DailyKOS.com!"

\and sadly a lot of the "spin" is probably inevitable

The old pitting conspiracy theory against conspiracy theory idea... I bet this would actually work too

A beer to you Saners. He made a comment, decided it was dumb to do so, and retracted it, all on a platform he was entitled to control. Before you jump on this, how would your FB wall look if you couldn't delete any content? Are you really willing to bet 100% that the company that refuses to add a 'dislike' feature and tells us what privacy you can and can't have would respond just because consumers didn't want them to have that feature?

y.delfi.ee: And again, the facebook is not something that you just dump something on. It's not a big truck. It's a series of small walls. And if you don't understand, those walls can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and it's going to be delayed by anyone that puts onto that wall enormous amounts of functional dispute, enormous amounts of functional dispute

Psst... not that kind of minister. He's the not-in-America government kind.
