Subby, Apple's SuperBowl commercial was amazing and standard-setting. Objectively, no one has ever gotten close to that level of poignancy in a commercial since.

So it would be a mistake to say there were no commercials that weren't dumb because there was at least one that was outstanding.

I have never understood why people watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials. People spend the rest of the year avoiding commercials like a plague, but somehow think that the commercials during the Super Bowl are magically going to be better. I have news for you...it's the same damn commercials! Maybe they are brand new for the Super Bowl, but then you see them over and over and over. And really if I have to see another stupid Gecko, Caveman or "Priceless" commercial, I'm going to strangle somebody.

Seems like the most forgettable Super Bowl commercials to me.

The Fed Ex (or was it UPS?) ad with the giant carrier pigeons was one of my favorites.

The Herb commercials were cool. People actually wanted to meet Herb.. and the Bleacher Report used "to" instead of "too" on that page. I can't understand why a money making website can't get that right.

No, it doesn't. Saying something is the dumbest makes no implication there's anything in the class that's smart, kind of like subtard's logic class. Example: "shortest pygmy", says nothing about the existence of tall pygmies, just that all other pygmies, while remaining short, are taller than them.

It's surprisingly difficult for companies to not make racism the central focus of their ad campaigns.

I can't wait to see the snobby Audi commercials bragging about their lite brite's on the hood of their cars.

Boy does that site suck ass! Not only do they do a slide show of videos, but when you click for the last one, you get the first slide of a different article instead.

The commercials were great when it was the one time of year when a company could go all-out and make a crazy ad that people would talk about for days. But this is the age of YouTube. We expect more from ads that are supposed to be clever or grandoise enough for this sort of stage - and they're falling flat because the things we watch online they just can't get away with on TV. Let's be honest; without the pesky FCC and the uptight assholes not letting the rest of us have fun, the collection of Super Bowl commercials would look like an episode of Tosh.0.

This is not how comparatives work. When I say that something is the dumbest dumb thing, I'm not implying that there are dumb things that aren't dumb. That would be DUMB.

What I noticed was that when he turned to his computer, "Genie" looked suspiciously like the regular "Google" logo.

Are you kidding me? That second one was one of the funniest. It was after the dot-com bust, and he's riding through the shuttered buildings of failed dot-coms (pimentoloaf.com, for example). One place has the pets.com sock puppet flying through the air, courtesy of a wrecking ball. The sock puppet lands at his feet and he picks it up, then parodies the Crying Indian.

Someone should do an article about the most sexist Super Bowl commercials. Those would probably get my vote for being the dumbest as well.
