Saw a documentary a few days ago that said the very first VC to invest in Google set up a meeting with Xcite, who were offered the chance to buy Google for........

(raises pinky finger to mouth) One million dollars......


And said no. Hope that $1m came in useful guys.

Lots of reading about bad business deals today. I'm in the middle of the ESPN book. ESPN chose between launching their internet presence with either Prodigy or AOL. Prodigy offered $10 million in ad buys. AOL told them they couldn't afford that level of advertising, but they had a better product AND they offered ESPN warrants for AOL stock.

They went with Prodigy. Oops.

/Hamster Dance was 1999? PBJT was 2000? Damn. They're older than I thought.

Am I the only one that couldn't read the damn slideshow because the drawing of Brin and Page were in the way?
