Even Virgin's airline delays are more fun than the other airlines. Wow, I gotta fly with these people. What next? "Sorry, we forgot to get soft drinks, free beers for everyone!".

This happened to me in London in 2004 on a Virgin Atlantic flight. We had just finished boarding when someone accidentally deployed the slide. It took them a couple of hours to repackage the slide (or replace it--can't remember which). Luckily, I was in their first class section, so the booze flowed freely, I reclined the seat into a flat bed, and had a nice vodak-infused nap.

I know someone who was working on that flight but didn't have anything to do with the deployment.

I emailed him if he'd had some trouble with a slide and got back "Yeah, maintenance deployed one in JFK. How did you hear?"
