I don't think that will be covered by the warranty...

That was strangely pleasant.

At about 2:28 it appeared that somebody threw something into it. I'd preferred they just started out with everything they needed to make it rattle itself to pieces.

Holy crap! That'll make an excellent vibrator for women!

Ha! I'm watching this while an imbalanced load of towels is rattling my brand new front-loading washing machine right now.

Not better, there's not buildup, no suspense. With subby's link there were several points where I was saying "how does it keep working after that?"

Wow, that was much more entertaining than I thought it could be. I enjoyed the slow build and the payout at the end.

I'm pretty sure that somewhere this is actually some guy's job, and he has to do it very seriously, testing with different weights and noting the precise failure times for each part.

I was unaware this is a national sport. Countless other people posting vids of the same thing, but abranan is right. I watched a bunch of others and none of them was as good as this one.

Nothing that 4 -2" deflection spring isolators wouldn't fix.

I thought perhaps it had created some sort of gravitational field and just started sucking in debris.

That should be used by the manufacturer to show how great their machine is.

Not to mention, it was strapped down so all of the damage was contained in one area, so that way it literally could shake itself to pieces, instead of transferring momentum by flinging itself around.

Looks like an entire motor assembly from another washer there at the end to put it out of its misery...

I'm impressed it lasted that long. Strangely hypnotic.

Also kind of concerned washing machines apparently don't have any sensors that would shut the whole thing off if it has any sort of major imbalance.

That was both highly amusing and extremely terrifying at the same time.

You would be correct. We use 0.5kg rubber weights, duct tape a stack of them together, then affix them to the inside of the drum. On most of our models, though, you can't open the door while the drum is turning (and it won't run if the door is open), and the unit has sensors that detect unbalance conditions and prevent it from spinning up the way it did in this video.

Does she just smile at you when you complain about it? Might wanna check the finish for suction-cup marks.

/need a suit of armor for this unit though

Underwriters Laboratories represent! I must ask though, where is your video where you set the bastard machine on fire while it was spinning out of control?

Looks like this one had the motor wired straight to the plug and the trans stuck in high spin. They do quit spinning, or spin slower, if the load is to out of balance. Also, a front loader would lock the door and stop if it popped open.

Very beat video though. Makes me want to go find a cheap used washer and a few bricks.
