Dear Ceiling Cat...I reeeeealy hope this is not the case this fall.

True Story time...
On my first day of first grade, I was sitting at my new desk (extremely bummed out) listening to our teacher going over rules and procedures. When I discovered that one went to the bathroom by raising your hand and asking for the little wooden hall pass I had a eureka moment. I raised my hand, politely asked for the hall pass, and went home.

Everyone always gets a kick out of that story, but what I always found funnier than the story is the thought of all the little cretins that pissed themselves because I never came back with the hall pass.

/school and I NEVER got along. That all changed once I got into college.

reigning.cats.and.dogs: He's not a cat, but he plays one at home - Foz'scie loves his kitties and I've even caught him 'scratching' on the kitty tower!

We went to the pet store today and he got some new toys, and I had many people tell me they wanted to take him home!

[i903.photobucket.com image 640x382]

Zara and Theo actually seem to love him! They let him chase them and then they chase him; they haven't used their claws (yet) and I've even seen Theo cuddled up with Fozzie for a nap!

I have yet to get pics of that cuteness, but here are the reigning cats who have allowed the dog to share their home:

[i903.photobucket.com image 640x382]

And finally, a gratuitous puppy shot, because I cannot seem to help myself! (Fozzie working hard at the office.)

At Very Long Last! Ginger's helping of course, made me lose some typing but not critical.
My sing-cere condolences. as I type at the ft of Lucky Pg 7, to hellsgoldenangel for her loss of Snowy(lovely girl), festygrrl for handsome Ralphie's departure & Rev Mark for his loss of good lookin' Eatbugs.
Last saw any of this last night 11ish & not again until after our dinner (all of us).
Little expl of pic, quickly catptioned since I hadn't a Gd Evening on hand; depictured is the entire Gang of 5 at about a year old in Aug 2010. From left, Cali's obvious, Tiger's back is to camera, then Tori, then Stripe, & Jimmy snoozes at foot with back to camera. It's spouse Plumbicon's lap in which they lounge, next to front bay window.

They do explode!
Fiona found an old guinea egg, I was taking pictures of the kitties in the pen when I heard what sounded like a gun or fire cracker go off right behind me. The guineas all jumped and started to squawk. I turned around and saw Fiona was standing over this broken egg. It smelled bad. She did not seem surprised and I have to think this is not her first exploding egg. Why on earth would she want to eat something that disgusting? Dogs!

At temp threadsend finally!
Tigerose, tnx for compliments for Gang of 5. They're the syndactyl lot; fused toes (tho not all toes) & wonky claws. Would not have gotten along well outdoors, which is why we are sure they were delivered to our doorstep minutes after our return from that distant vacation.
If you move carefully, you might not disturb Eli the Bitey.

Found this on TP, during my search for the original .gif of the blue weeping kitty that I haven't found yet, as I wasn't home most of today. It's supposed to move, but may not; seems to have saved as a .jpg but it did move on TP. Earlier try too big a file, forgot who brought this one.
Oh, didn't mention that I did at last finnish (sic) transcribing the women radio ops' magazine for my Tape Topix subscriber (only one) in Salt Lake. The last thing was 2 pgs of amateur radio contests for this coming year. The 2 run by the organization that produces the magazine still had the old org URL, when the new site went up 2 wks ago. I finally figured out that I could go to where the text for the 1st contest was, & copy the entire URL. Best to give the non-sighted something on which they can click to get them right to a specific location on a web page. I also have a big note on the calendar to go to the site for the later contest & copy that URL for her then, when it's available.

Raven came to work with me last night (as usual) but for some reason she had the Needies.
Couldn't do anything without her being underfoot (makes mopping difficult, especially if one uses HOT water) and every time I sat down she was right there on the heartseat.
I asked her to pay some attention to the staff member who relieved me (so I could change into outdoor shoes). Raven went over and politely greeted her...but then it was right back to me.

Wonder why cats get clingy like this...she's been accompanying me to work for nearly six months now so it's not like it's a new environment.

Well, as long as we are telling funny cat stories...My ex-sister in law once called me to say that her cat had eaten her embroidery yarn, and now was " extruding" bright pink floss...I had to tell her not to pull the string...and my sister in law was a nurse!! Then, after the " no more kitten" surgery ( for the cat, not her), she wanted to know when the stitches could come out...ummm....you are a nurse.....OMG!

I still laugh at that!

Still working on the last of the perimeter fence behind the brick house. While I was fighting with the vines I heard Fiona woof and run into the forest, I heard another dog yelp in surprise and then Fiona came back into the yard. I started to praise her for being such a good guard dog for me when she trotted back to check the deer leg bone she had been working on to make sure it was safe. I guess I am lower on the list of things to guard.
Just a few days before, while hiding under a table during a thunder storm she lost her milk bone treat to Li-Ion. He stole if from her bed and took it up to the couch to eat it with his back to the poor dog.

I think cats see thing we do not, and sometimes they just need extra grounding..with their person. Which means they play barnacle kitteh..

Eli has been sleeping with my son lately. Very interesting. Maybe it is because my boy snores less? :)

Similar story here. My parents' dearly departed cat, Samantha, got into the trash in the bathroom once and swallowed dental floss. It started to, um, protrude out of her butt. My dad started to pull it out, but it wasn't coming out easily. He called the vet and they told him to just let it come out naturally, as it could be caught up in her intestines.

Not so far from That Appointed Time (just announced on radio club repeater in fact) for me to help Plumbicon test Ginger's b.g. & feed the rest their Late Eve Nommies. Ginger gets a little even if his b.g. isn't low (more if it is), about what he gets for lunch which is just a little.
I got minutes for today's planning mtg to transcribe on the morrow. Sure wish I could spell, but thank heavens for easily correctable computer stuff.

I have really long hair, and occasionally my dog manages to swallow one (he loves to lick sheets and pillowcases). When we're out for a stroll, he'll do a perfectly good poop, then get up to walk away, only to realize the poop is dangling from his butt by one of my poor hairs, and it's following him!

He has to put in a little extra time and effort, but thankfully always manages to work things out by himself.

does anyone else experience a stampede
of little feet when you walk down the hall to the
"little room"?
I can not get into the room, turn around to sit down without
at least 4 cats vying for my attention...since I'm not doing
anything of any importance anyway...
they all seem to want my attention then.
