TravisBickle62: The Name: Wendy's Chili: brantgoose: HOW MANY GD DEBATES DOES THE GOP NEED?

SHUT UP! THIS IS AWESOME!

Question: Is the audience allowed to give applause at tonight's debate?

Otherwise, I might not even bother watching.

Yes they are

Excellent. I wonder which horrible thing/good thing they'll cheer/boo this time.

Yeah, i can picture it great. It mostly consists of Obama crying.

I don't get the GOP. Gingrich is slamming Paul Tsongas? Now yes, he was socially liberal, but he was talking about ending the deficit before it was cool. Courtesy of Wikipedia:

Relative to business and economic matters, Tsongas focused in particular on the Federal budget deficit, a cause he continued to champion even after his presidential primary campaign ended, by co-founding the Concord Coalition.

I supported them back then and did for a number of years. Rudman, Peterson and Tsongas wanted to end deficit spending and balance the budget. Of course they were were moderate to conservative fiscally and absolutely believed that revenue was part of the solution. Quel Horreur! I guess this is anathema to the party of derp.

"He won't tell you that now, because he is counting on us not having YouTube," Gingrich said. "That's how much he thinks we are stupid. And we are not stupid. The message we should give Mitt Romney is: we aren't that stupid and you aren't that clever."

The irony would be hilarious if it wasn't so depressing.

I love it. It's like the bots from Hillary is 44 are writing speeches for Gingrich and Mittens.

Yep, I'm a Republican, I like Gingrich for the full-I-don't-care-what-I-am retardness of his campaign. Romney is boring as fark, I don't think he could pass a Voight-Kampff test.

We (along with a majority of independents and a non-trivial number of Republicans) are indeed afraid of what he would do to this country. The only people that are afraid of Newt winning are ivory tower Republicans with a lot to lose.

That seems a bit blunt. How about:

"Newt, no one but you seems to think the American people might be "stupid". Do you have a point to make, or are you just showing us how glibly you can string together a bunch of hot button phrases, applause lines, and half-truths in one rant?"

Grand_Moff_Joseph: Lost Thought 00: is himself a stock holder in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

There is 0 chance in hell that Newt says this at a debate. Romney will eviscerate him on the fact that Newt was their primary lobbyist not too long ago.

Even if Newt does go there at the debate, it won't matter what Romney says in response. With the crowd allowed to cheer tonight, they'll give Newt a standing ovation and try to boo Romney off the stage when he responds. The visuals that will produce will be unbeatable, even if Romney does have a pile of correct counter-arguments at his disposal.

Forgot about that.

True, but the problem is that Mitt has never had to face and combat adversity in his life. You can tell this whenever he is challenged. If his daddy had given him less and made him work for something for once, maybe Mitt would have developed the ability to come back with something like this.

Instead, he will stutter like an idiot, face blown up as he wonders how anyone dares question him in such a manner. And he will lose.

Well, they could have defunded it, but we were already there. Not funding a war we were already fighting isn't really a reasonable option. Bush ordered the initial attack, even if congress did authorize him to use force where he saw fit. No way does Gore make the same move.

But the US is safer, right? Oil is cheaper now, the middle east is more stable, and we aren't deathly afraid of Muslims anymore. Oh wait...

So maybe you shouldn't put the war solely at Bush's feet, huh? Gore would've done the same thing, but he would've had to be bullied into it.

We are safer, idiot. number of successful terrorist attacks since the wars? ZERO. Oil's always increasing in price, and pussies are always afraid of muslims. No president can change that.
