Ha Ha, its funny because he's gay

Good for him. I feel bad for his spouse though. I can't imagine many people winning an argument against Barney Frank.

2012-01-26 01:04:39 PM
I wish he'd done this while he was still a rep. Then he could have sued the government for discrimination when they didn't extend benefits to his spouse. I suppose he still could.

True, but the dinner conversations must be great. "So how was your day?" "Good, I went on Oreilly and biatch-slapped that little turd all over the room"

It would be pretty sweet if he turned around and sued the shiat out of the government.

Congratulations Barney. We'll miss you on the hill.

Now, do retired Congress people's spouses get benefits?

Because that could be awesome.

Anyway, Congratulations Congressman Frank. I hope you register for some dining room tables.

Norv Turner: Ha Ha, its funny because he's gay

I'm gay. Didn't offend me. But to each their own I suppose.

The one thing that always confused me about Frank is that he had a close friendship with Dick Armey. Obvious jokes aside, I don't get that at all. I wonder if they're still friends.

I imagine they at least would have access to whatever health plan they have.

Actually I wasn't offended, I was just being immature. I'm offended over you thinking I was offended

Good for them.

Of course, this very public marriage will destroy countless families as men leave them in droves to marry guys and recruit children to their gay agenda.

Diogenes: I'm gay. Didn't offend me. But to each their own I suppose.

I'm not gay and it didn't offend me. Well, it offended me because it's a painfully old joke that wasn't funny, but the actual message didn't offend me.

2012-01-26 02:08:37 PM
And the Herald ends the article about him retiring and getting married with....a list of random shiat he did

Ready or knot?

Yes, and this particular lawsuit has already happened. Former Rep. Gerry Studds' husband, Dean Hara, was denied Studds' pension by the federal government. He was one of the plaintiffs in the Massachusetts suit, Gill v. OPM.
Unfortunately, Hara lacked standing in that case, so, even though Judge Truro found for the plaintiffs that DoMA was unconstitutional, Hara wasn't part of that finding. Specifically, Hara also had a federal circuit appeal pending on the same issue, so the district court couldn't hear his claim simultaneously.

But that said, because of that decision and Mass. v. DPH, Frank's spouse would certainly be eligible to receive his pension after Frank's death, at least in the 1st Circuit.

Well congratulations.

*at least in Massachusetts.

Didn't realize the 1st Circuit appeal was still pending.

Do we still have to make buttsecks jokes when discussing homosexuality? I know this is Fark but really subby? I'm straight and buttsecks makes my whole month. Short of touching tips in erotica simulated sword play, there isn't much going on with gay sex that straights don't have an analog to.

Do you ever REALLY know the guy you're sharing that men's room stall with? Aside from Biblically?

"There is no timetable for when Frank, 71, and his partner Jim Ready plan to marry"

I remember when Jim used to be a guy's name. What's with people giving daughters boy's names these days?

That said, I am glad Barney decided to settle down. He must have a black belt in beating the girls off with a stick by now.

He's been beating somebody's stick off.

I'd tried to be offended and it just didn't work.

Good luck Mr. Frank.

2012-01-26 04:25:45 PM
Frank was also the center of a controversy in 2009 when it was reported that he was present when police charged Ready for having pot plants at his home in 2007. Frank said at the time he wouldn't have recognized a pot plant if he saw it.

But I bet he recognizes a chocolate banana.

I think Congressman Frank's previous SO, Herb, was on his health plan, etc.

How convenient. He'll probably wait until next year just to make sure he won't have to share his pension rights.

Barney Frank dated a guy named Herb and now he's marrying a guy who grows it. What are the odds?

At his age you need to tie a knot or else it drags on the ground.

Barney Frank is awesome. And not just in a fabulous way. Good luck sir!

James!: I imagine they at least would have access to whatever health plan they have.

DOMA would prevent any official recognition by the federal government. His spouse could buy into his health plan but in most cases that is taxed as income which can be significant depending on the plan.

You don't have much of an imagination or know many people with IQs with triple digits, do you?

I feel bad for his spouse because I can't imagine arguing with Elmer Fudd for the rest of his life.

Congratulations to Barney.
