If your wife beats you up when you come home with a haircut she doesn't like, you have bigger problems than just a bad haircut and an aggressive wife (with pics of what an abused hobbit might look like)

Dear Lord... with the exception of the two daughters thing, it reads exactly like my 20+ year marriage. I used the phrase 'emotional abuse' with her once and she fired back that men cannot be emotionally abused & I was just being a wimp. It's costing me a house, a new car, half of all my savings and nearly 15K in legal fees/debt to finally be free of it all. Testicles can grow back eventually although now I'm too old to use them...

Oh, I think my wife would do this exactly once. If I didn't kill her on the spot, she'd be spending a night in jail and at least a few hours in a divorce court. And to women whose husbands beat them: never forget; that mutherfarker has to sleep some time and the second function of an iron skillet is what?

Was in a relationship where I was hit twice. First time I told her not to do it again.
Second time happened a few years later, and I told her I would press charges and end the relationship. She knows I don't bluff or lie.
I just don't get a man or woman who stays in. Putting up with it once or twice in extreme circumstances I can understand. The 300th time? Letting her do that in front of children? Keeping yourself and children in a violent situation because of your EGO? Pathetic.

You have no experience, then. I called the cops on my wife once. They took one look at me - battered face, torn clothing, and talked to her. One admission of her guilt later, they didn't hesitate to arrest me.
And no, there really isn't more to this story, other than I learned never to call the cops.

Murder is a bad solution. Don't kill him and they may die themselves, kill him and they get to explain why they would rather premeditate ending the life of another human instead of MOVING AWAY AND LEAVING.
Even an island like Britain is big enough that with a small effort like not going to your best friends house who the abuser knows and can find and you can get away and stay physically safe while involving the police.
Seriously, someone is not willing to risk their job by going into hiding for a while, but are willing to risk it by being held on possible murder charges that is almost unbelievably dumb.

I got a haircut once my wife didn't like so she refused to sit with me in church.
She chose instead to sit between our plumber and our dentist.
That's the worst she's ever done to me,I guess.

Wow... my wife and I have been together about 25 years now, March 7th is our 22nd anniversary. We just get along great. I don't think we've ever had a fight. We just both like the same things, do pretty much everything together. She's a hardcore gamer chick, loves computers, video games, hard rock & heavy metal, comic books... you name it, pretty much all the same stuff I love. I couldn't see being in a relationship with someone who I didn't like... or who didn't like the things I do.
I know, cool story bro... but I just got lucky I guess. Wouldn't trade her for anything.

Calling the cops was a bad idea. Leaving, going to the police station (with lawyer in hand if possible) to have charges filed and your injuries documented will work.

:( sorry mate.
reminds me that the one lesson I ever learned about the law: innocent people need better lawyers than guilty people.
learned that lesson when my ex-husband was sued in civil court by a former employee saying he sexually assaulted her. A former employee with, as it turns out, a history of making sexual assault claims against bosses who fired her. (yes, civil court, she didn't try to bring criminal charges, biatch wanted money) And a few grand in lawyer fees later, the judge threw the case out and threatened her with jail.
/why do I know he didn't do it? Because where she claimed it happened was monitored by cctv. There was nothing on the tape.

Most police departments have policies, and may even be subjected to laws, that *require* the police to arrest someone on a domestic violence call. They will almost always make it the man. Often in cases where the man is abused, they still arrest him but do not charge him.
This is usually done because if they don't separate them, there is a good chance of being called back to the same place later to secure the scene for an ambulance to take someone away.
I do not condone this, but it is how it is.

Men can be emotionally abused.
I had to go to a therapist after divorcing my wife. Years of abuse left physical symptoms (the therapist said fight or flight symptoms similar to soldiers traumatized) that had a negative effect on my health. It took a year of working with him to get back to being able to even think normally.
Anyone who says men cannot be abused is speaking in utter ignorance.

On the one hand, a man getting beaten up by his lady is somewhat very amusing.
On the other hand, I know one of these guys and it's just sad, wrong, and pathetic. Last time was mid December timeframe, he showed up to a holiday party with his face looking pretty messed up. His story is that he was drunk and running back home from a bar and fell along the way. His wife comes over into the conversation and jokes "ohhh, you telling people I'm beating you up again?" He does an immediate Bert stare back at her then sinks into his shell for the night. Not the first time for him, either.

I still have physical scars from my ex-wife, even though we have been divorced for 11 years. I am the kind of guy who always try to keep my cool, but that in itself used to piss her off. In her twisted mine, because I didn't show anger I wasn't passonate about her. So she used to beat the hell out of me. Anyway, I divorced her and got married to a stripper in Vegas. I couldn't be happier.

2012-01-26 12:59:51 PM
Asking her to stop never worked. She wouldn't talk about her anger, dismissing it as all my fault. I didn't dare retaliate either.
Hurting a woman was wrong
so I let her get on with it until she calmed down.
And there lies the problem. Society and the law books favor women and reinforce this farcical bias. I'm of the opinion that if someone attacks me, I'm within my right to respond in kind.
I can understand him being careful with her pregnancy, but outside of that period, he should feel justified to defend himself.
