(Uproxx) Followup I didn't think part two of Stephen Colbert's interview with Maurice Sendak could possibly top part one, but then they got high on Magic Markers and all bets were off   (uproxx.com) divider line 35

That was a stupendously great interview.

"F@ck them is what I say..."

I lost it there.

That was great!

"The sad thing is I liked it." - Maurice Sendak

I don't think I've ever enjoyed an interview more than that. Those two should take a show on the road. So damned witty and playful.

Idiot. How do you spell that?

Where the wild milfs are ... man ...
awesome interview! both parts!

What he said about ebooks needs to be on that man's tombstone.

Still not as funny as Munchma Quchi, but it's definitely in the top ten funniest Colbert moments.

So true. That whole thing was hilarious and entertaining.

Stephen Colbert = awesome
Maurice Sendak = awesome

Stephen Colbert + Maurice Sendak = super awesome

Wow, that was crazy funny.

That was great. They both had some great shots at each other.

First part was still better, but I'm hoping there's an full and extended version coming our way soon.

/"It's a miracle I've lived this long without destroying a person." Now THAT'S a blurb.

They need to get him on the show to do a rant once a month or so, sort of like Lewis Black used to do on The Daily Show. His interplay with Colbert is genius and the old grump is honestly hilarious.

The interview was hilarious but my major takeaway from the episode w/part one was that in college Rick Santorum gave a dolphin a reach-around.

Boy, was he right about eBooks. Seriously, fark 'em.

I haven't watched part 2 yet but after seeing part one I said they need to put the entire thing up completely unedited.

Captain Oates: The interview was hilarious but my major takeaway from the episode w/part one was that in college Rick Santorum gave a dolphin a reach-around.

That whole bit was genius. Skewered Santorum (eww), skewered the demented old lady, skewered the morans clapping for her, etc. Just awesome. I think this bit, and the Sendak interview, proves how good Colbert is and how much we need him.

I didn't think Maurice Sendak had that in him. A few months ago he did this interview with Terry Gross on All Things Considered, and it was one of the saddest things I've heard. He seemed so regretful and alone.

Oh well. Maybe he was just having an off day that day. Feeling moody. You know these artist types.

I loved this as well. A lot of times Colbert's interviews make me cringe. This one was just all kinds of awesome.

Awesome. I hope they post it all in one piece.

This is ridiculous. As a Canadian, I demand better access to Comedy Central streams. Don't make me raise and release another Bryan Adams. We grow them in cages.

Until you release another Rick Moranis you don't get any funny!

unyon: Have any Canadian farkers successfully found this interview on the comedy network site?

I don't know if you can link to a particular time stamp as with youtube, but the full first segment of the 25/01/12 Colbert Report is here. Part 2 of the interview with Scendak starts about 5m30s in.

I meant to add that I did enable scripts for thecomedynetwork.ca and ctvdigital.net - not 100% sure if the latter was necessary. I did get a window saying simply "Sorry, there was an error" but the video applet still popped up as blocked; clicking it to allow it to run let the video play fine.

Evil Kirk vs Bad Ash: Until you release another Rick Moranis you don't get any funny!

You think we haven't tried? Good Lord Below, we've got so many failed Moranis' that we've had to start putting them down. All they mutter about is Zuul, and when put together in groups they start dismantling nearby technology to recreate a shrink ray. They never make anything else, and several are always killed in the process.

Just about everything is available on-demand at one or both of CTV.ca or thecomedynetwork.ca.

Part 1 (Pops, starts around the 3:00 mark) (new window) (new window)

Part 2 (Pops, starts around the 4:30 mark) (new window) (new window)

Thanks. I looked at the comedy network, but it was a navigational failure. I forgot that CTV has the links as well. Still a pain in the ass everytime a Colbert link is referenced or linked on a webpage, which is often.
