Guys, guys:

Come on. Conservative commentators go to a lot of trouble constructing and setting up these ridiculous cartoon strawman arguments against what they imagine the point to be.

If you just come in here and knock them down like that, do you really expect they'll bother from now on?

Please, a little consideration for the strawmen, mkay?

The GOP wants to raise taxes on the poor and middle while cutting social programs that help the poor and the middle in order to pay for the tax cuts they want to keep for large corporations and the top 2%.

In that framework, your counter point is that little bit of nonsense? Really?

And yet, "working" for "wages" apparently must be less deserved, since it's being taxed at a higher rate than capital gains.

So, um, I'm not sure whether we're in agreement or not. This is the most ambiguous thread I've ever posted in. (I think the trolls won this one.)

John Ra: So this is what political mudslinging has degraded to, critizing political personalities for being rich?

PS. That article had no evidence to backup its claim. What was it claiming again?

You see, some time ago Republicans made a 'liberals hate rich people' strawman. They trot this strawman out any time a rich liberal mentions anything about taxes and claim liberals are hypocrites. Since your average Republican doesn't listen to anything liberals say, they have no idea this is a strawman, and continue to believe their own narrative. Really, if you doubt this is true ask a republican about some of Obama's policies. They will tell you what ever the narrative is, without regard to Obama's actual position.
