Jeesh... Where's Sgt. Hulka when you need him?

It's sad that her tenure has ended
From anger she hadn't intended.
She meant you no harm!
Why raise the alarm?
Too easily, you are offended.

2012-01-26 12:43:46 PM
HOW CAN SHE STRING?

2012-01-26 12:44:07 PM
fark that, the fan should be charged with assault, for shoving her then

2012-01-26 12:45:28 PM
She should have got two minutes in the box...MAX.

2012-01-26 12:46:28 PM
I think it's entirely healthy and normal for someone to proclaim to the world that they're a "mascot devotee" and to run a social networking site for like-minded folks.

2012-01-26 12:49:36 PM
She should have replaced "Silly" with "G".

2012-01-26 12:54:11 PM
How much of a pussy do you have to be to push over a mascot who shoots you with silly string?

2012-01-26 12:57:06 PM
Rule #1 of being a mascot: Don't ever do anything that involves any contact, whether it be silly string or yourself, with a fan of the opposing team. Especially ones with no neck, like the guy who pushed the mascot.

Yes the Bruins fan is a jerk, but you can't intentionally piss off opposing fans, that's not your job, Mascottard.

2012-01-26 12:57:17 PM
Silly string my ass, she wouldn't fark the boss, simple as that.

2012-01-26 12:57:39 PM
That guy sounds like he is the one with a thunderbug up his bum. Lightenup francis. He committed assault over silly typical mascot hijinks. You are wearing an opposing team jersey in a another teams stadium. Should have also thought it might be a woman in the outfit.

2012-01-26 12:58:09 PM
If the fan was wearing a jersey or something that was ruined by the silly string, I could possibly understand the anger. However, the Bruins fan needs to lighten up a little bit and be less like Lucic.

Gunderson: She should have replaced "Silly" with "G".

There are many strip clubs in Tampa probably looking for fresh talent...

Isn't there video of some baseball fans attacking a mascot after getting hit with silly string, too?

I want to say they were Dodgers' fans, but I'm not sure.

Some people definitely need to lighten up at sporting events...

You sound like the Leafs fan who ended up getting my half full beer to the back of his head a couple seasons ago. I got tired of his constant booing of Alfie every time he touched the puck.

1967? Lol

What, did she do a simulated silly string money shot?

ropey jets flying across the room

Lasodra had Youppi! tossed out of a game once.

Maybe it wasn't the silly string?

Perhaps how it got on the web and went viral?

A few seasons ago I was at a first round playoff game between the Bruins and the Habs at the Garden (Habs beat the Bruins in 7 games).

We were sitting in a section surrounded by Habs fans. It was my wife, myself and my sister and right in front of us were another group of Bruins fans, but everyone else in the section were Habs fans.

Anyway, every time Chara would touch the puck, all the Habs fans around us would boo and jeer as they usually do.

About half way through the first period, on of the Bruins fans in front of us stands up (about 6'2", probably tipping the scales at 225 or so) and states loudly and calmly, "The next asshole that boos Chara is going to get punched in the face".

Not a peep out of our section for the rest of the game... I think it was the calm way he made the statement more than his size.

Total dick move, no doubt, but I couldn't help but chuckle about it... Still do.

Bruins won the game in overtime and the place went ape shiat. It was awesome.

Nope... This was about 2 or 3 seasons before that hit. The Bruins/Habs rivalry is a lot older than that, my friend...

TFA says it wasn't just the silly string incident that got her fired. And she was also fired from another mascot job in 2008. I'm wondering what the hell you have to do to keep getting fired from mascot jobs.

Compared to a Lightning fan who gets practically buried in silly string and just laughs it off. Douche-bag meat-heads are the reason I rarely attend pro-sports games.

/that and annoying drunk women screaming like the players can hear her.

The girl in the suit is named Kelly Frank. When I used to mascot professionally, Kelly and I auditioned for some of the same gigs. She is one of the best mascots in the pros. She's a mascot's mascot because she likes to work edgy and we love that stuff. Unfortunately, upper management doesn't like that much.

/CSB

We were at an audition for a NCAA basketball character called JJ Jumper. NCAA would fly everybody in from everywhere and all the performers mostly knew each other. I was stuck in a room with some dude I had never met. He and I went out for beers and I went back to crash early. I was asleep and was woken but this loud grunting. Sure enough, it was Kelly boning this guy in the bed next to me. It didn't piss me off so much that she was in full bone grunt; what pissed me off was the dude was married with a kid. I don't care what you do in ur personal life. But if ur gonna cheat on ur wife, don't do it with me in the room...unless I get a piece too!

/end of CSB

Go Bolts....but, damn, you're gonna get sued over this...especially when ThunderBug was pushed down by a Bruins fan.

Sounds like this gal was fired because there is a workmens comp claim coming down the bend

As a Yankee Fan, I generally enjoy the bad mouthing of fellow MLB fans (Yeah you B-town Aholes).

Honestly spraying silly string on the opposing fan is just very bad taste, same for other mascots. Your job is to rally YOUR fans, and keep them hyped up.

Problem is one person will like it, another won't - Prime example is my "Boston - AL EAST CHAMPS 2011" on the back of the shirt it says "OPPS, NEVERMIND".

Yeah...one fan is apparently still butt hurt over it, never the less people take life way to serious sometimes, these are the fans who need their asses kicked, most wwho dump beer on opposing fans or shove nuts in their face.

/Nuts in face was pretty stupid - whining over silly string? biatch please...

I think since the Chara / Pacioretty incident last year.

In that case, I don't know. Perhaps it's just because he's the biggest Bruin, thus the largest target.

Mascots should never physically "touch" a fan of the opponent like this. Who wants silly string sprayed in their face? I don't. Who wants it done as a joke on you from a rival team's mascot? I don't, and dumb people will take extreme offense to this. Yes, it's silly and to push her down was pathetic, but I would say he was within his right to chuck a pretzel at her head.

I've been attending hockey games for more than 30 years now, and in the last 6 or so years it seems like mascots and home teams have done more things like this to belittle the opponent's fans. The kiss cam where they cut to two staged guys wearing the other team's sweaters and have them kiss is sort of funny, I have to admit.

They've been booing him since he was named captain of the team... and they probably booed him when he was with Ottawa.

At Providence Bruins games they'll point the "Kiss Cam" at two players on the visiting bench... It is pretty funny.

A lot of the times the players will blow kisses at each other.

Can't agree with you there. Mascots are like court jesters, for whom it's permitted to do things that other people aren't - within reason of course, and silly string is surely within reason. It's not as though they dump beers on people.

Of course you could say that ALL the stuff extraneous to the game (mascots, t-shirt launchers, pre-game concerts, competitions to shoot the puck in the net and win a car (new window), etc.) are an insult to the game itself, but apparently people need constant entertainment....

Mini 1 on 1 and having the youth leagues play between periods is pretty cool, though.

It's like watching a bunch of marbles on a table that's being titled in the case of the latter.
