Yeah still not gonna support you. Romney, or Obama versus anyone else on the Republican side.

I wonder what other foreign governments Gingrich will have loyalty over America to if the money is right.

I think pledging allegiance to Israel is a Republican party requirement

Except that it's a bi-partisan issue.

Obama is distributing a video of himself right now that basically says 'Look how me and Israel are tight, guys!'

Don't see that happening with, say, England.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: I think pledging allegiance to Israel is a Republican party requirement

Yeah, but usually it's for the whole country of Israel because they're an ally and all that. Gingrich is just doing this for the money.

I would like to see a video of Obama saying 'Guv'nah, I really do love a scone at tea time' while drinking earl grey with a spot of milk and a picture of the queen in the background in order to get more votes though

Sadly, its not a GOP thing. It's basically the entire government.

It's really more of a money thing which is corrupting the system even more than it already is. The blowback should be interesting.

FTFA: The FBI and the Securities and Exchange Commission are investigating Adelson for possible violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, according to a filing with the SEC. The company denies any wrongdoing and says the investigation stems from the allegation of a disgruntled employee.

The son of a cab driver, Adelson now ranks as the eighth wealthiest person in America, according to Forbes Magazine, which places his net worth at $21.5 billion.

And this is why Citizens United is such a dangerous decision. Whether you feel the decision was decided properly on the merits, there is no question that it can and, eventually, will be perverted, if it isn't being so already. With $21.5 billion, how much would he spend to get a friendly candidate to lead the Executive branch and save his gambling empire if there was merit to the allegations? $100 million? $1 billion? Who knows.

I just learned that Gingrich Productions is a joint venture with Citizen's United. Not that it was a secret, but it seems like an interesting angle.

I never get tired of watching this promotional clip of his DVD on Islam. Makes me feel like '24' is still on the air.

And in secret with we SWEAR no ties to the campaign even if the pac just happens to be run out of the same office as the campaign type crap with little to no disclose of who's in the pac and who their donors are and etc etc.

I believe the point, sir, is that this should not be legal and is in fact a stark demonstration of why the Citizens United decision is bad for this country.

Not that it's the same thing, but there are currently 14 Arab Israelis in the Knesset out of 120 members (11.66%). Including, weirdly, a member of the ultra-rightist Yisroel Beiteinu party.

Also, America and England have that Special Relationship I've heard so much about.

While there's nothing wrong with backing an ally of America (which Israel officially is), there are many problems with that backing having its roots in religious fervor. Like Goldwater said, once you muddy the waters with "God says he's on my side", it becomes damn near impossible to debate.

I'm too cheap to donate, but I have to think that even if I were allowed to donate the traditional maximum allowable, I would have no sway whatsoever. Maybe a nice picture of me with the candidate and a thank you note.

10 Million and openly bragging about it? you better believe I'd expect something actionable in return.

this. The Dems lost Weiner's seat (Weiner was very pro-Israel) because the replacement Democrat was not pro-Israel enough.

At least we know where Gingrich's SuperPAC money comes from, and its motives.

Black representation in congress is roughly proportionate to their share of the population.

It may be a "dangerous decision", but being able to say "Vote for Gingrich" is just as a valid example of speech as internet porn or violent video games.

Also note that the whole "corporate money" bogeyman doesn't apply here; this is his personal funds, given (apparently) for political reasons unrelated to his line of business.

Well, we all know that #2 (Warren Buffett) supports Obama, although he's not the type to give twenty million to a Super PAC.

Not sure who #1 (Bill Gates) supports, although he is a close personal friend of #1.

The OP implied that Muslims do not have representation in Knesset (though I think he clarified that he meant Muslims do not have representation in the US - which is true - and I inferred wrongly).

There was nothing in there about "in proportion to population", but if you'd like to start, the US has one Muslim member of Congress and far more than 1/435th of the population is Muslim.
