The really sad thing is that Cuba could have been one heck of a vacation spot (and it once was). They could be raking in the money and tripping over topless co-eds if they had played their cards right.

I think it's mostly the older generation of Cubans that really hates Castro. I've read that many younger people aren't as fanatically anti-Castro because they're more removed (they didn't personally lose anything after the revolution), they don't think he's relevant enough to hate, and they expect that the regime will eventually loosen economic restrictions (especially if the US encourages it instead of vilifying them - we don't seem to care about trading with China, but Cuba is off limits?). I think Raul Castro has already loosened them somewhat.
