I would never expect a guy with that type of mustache to be a criminal.

Was the homeowner showing restraint, or he just didn't want top get blood spatter on the walls?

Really?

You just bust down the front door? Wow, maybe I should just save the money on an alarm system and put bells on the door handles or something

Clay County Sheriff's Office booking photo of Jarvis Guthrie

Is that "Cookie Jarvis" Guthrie?

Pffft...some thugs broke into a california highway patrolmans house while he was on vacation and stole all of his guns and body armor, plus his badge.

Those guys looked a LOT worse in their mug shots. What a bunch of farking idiots. You do that, they're all going to look for you until they find you and then kick your ass. It only has one outcome.

Osilka kicked Guthrie in his chest and struck him in the face with his hand while holding his handgun. Guthrie started trying to push and strike Osilka, who then hit the teen several more times in the face and head, knocking him to the floor. Osilka held Guthrie down until the deputy arrived and arrested him. Guthrie was taken to Orange Park Medical Center.

That boy is lucky he was robbing an officer who had an abundance of self restraint.

Who wants to bet this dumbass's parents/guardians will try pressing charges against officer Osilka?

BenJammin: Was the homeowner showing restraint, or he just didn't want top get blood spatter on the walls?

I've always wondered about this very thing if someone broke into my house and the messy aftermath I'd be left to clean up.

What an idiot. Did he not think that banging on the door and trying to break it down might draw some attention?

Whatever happened to sneaking in quietly. I imagine it would be easier to steal things if nobody knows you're there.

I'd bet your home owners insurance would cover it. Human remains need to be cleaned up by professionals and yes it is very expensive.

Don't worry about it. There are special cleaning crews for that. They would bill your insurance.

Wow, that kid is damn lucky to still be alive. Kudos to the officer for not shooting first and asking questions later, although I wouldn't have blamed him if he had (cop or not).

He was home? Cop next door is always working. If I heard noise I'd go help next door... but then again his wife is stronger than my scarecrow ass. Nevermind.

It's true. When I was a heroin addict I was locked up in the Hole with a guy who had broken into 30+ homes and something like half were cops or CO's. He did it on purpose because he was looking for guns etc. They were keeping him in detention until the bruising went away. When I first saw him he was still so bruised I thought he was black. He wasn't. I think he got 15 years on a plea deal.

I thought the city had bio-hazard people that did that for you. Or does that only apply to businesses?

Not sure what's available. Hopefully I never have to find out. Though well prepared in home/personal defense, I could go my whole life and be content that I never had make a mess like that or the the aftermath.

No kidding. I'm looking at 50 and various parts of me that I've broken, torn and damaged over the years are catching up to me and I'm not sure how I'd do hand to hand (read: I'd get my ass handed to me). I wouldn't want to kill the piece of shiat but in the situation described in TFA I probably would have fired.

With an inquisitive 4 year old around, I've gone to the smallish-aluminum-bat-by-the-bed method of home defense. Kid's statistically more likely to hurt himself with it than I am to use it for home defense, so I put the pistola up unless I'm traveling.

/and you was told there would be no maths
