Both of them.

One. The rest go to the teacher's lounge, kind of like the free cookie basket for everybody to take from at lunch. Hell, even the school liaison officer probably grabs one for him/herself.

Poorly stated problem. It should be:

"A 4-year-old boy takes nine bags of weed to school. In class, he pulls the seven bags of weed out and gives the 5 bags to his teacher. The teacher confiscates all 3 bags. If the police declare the street value of the bag of marijuana as $eleventybillion, how much profit did the boy lose?"

2012-01-26 06:00:22 AM
It's too early for drug math.

2012-01-26 08:45:01 AM
The answer is simple: "Today, a 4 year old boy was reprimanded at school for talking about marijuana during naptime. In related news, there was apparently a miscalculation in the amount of post-naptime snacks that would be required at the school, leaving the pre-schoolers without snacks today. Teachers seemed very sedate and somber about the situation..."

2012-01-26 10:22:28 AM
How fast were the bags traveling?

AbbeySomeone: It's too early for drug math.

Yes. I was told there would be none.

They are going to need extra snacks at snack time, only if the classroom bong is working and has water in it.

2012-01-26 10:25:23 AM
What weed?

2012-01-26 10:25:29 AM
I have a 4YO and I'm just waiting for her to tell a teacher something like "there were 8 empty brown bottles on the counter this morning!" or "I found a balloon on Mommy's nightstand, but Daddy wouldn't blow it up for me..."

2012-01-26 10:25:57 AM
"This student had no idea what he brought to school or what the substance was," he added.

Wait... they didn't arrest the four-year-old kid for possession under the guise of a zero-tolerance policy? I guess it would be a stretch to put him on the sex-offender list for this though.

Math aside, why is a 4 year old in elementary school? Am I missing something?

/read it as Hangover elementary school and giggled

2012-01-26 10:29:26 AM
I hope this is in one of those zero tolerance states where they send this little drug pusher away for life!

2012-01-26 10:30:03 AM
African or European?

2012-01-26 10:31:30 AM
The parents of the student are going to be pissed!!!! in more ways than one... (snickering to myself)

All of them.

The police keep their weed in the evidence room in case of inspections. They're not as stupid as you think they are.

It's not making it to the evidence room that is the problem. It's staying in the evidence room.

P.S. Remember when Principal Skinner offered Bart the choice of everything in the Confiscated Contraband Locker at Springfield Elementary, including complete collections of MAD magazine? Or was that in the Bongo comic books? It's hard to remember, what with all the episodes and hundreds of comic book stories. People who say that the Simpsons aren't as good as they used to be haven't checked out a comic book store in the last ten years or so. They're still producing--they're just splitting their production between the TV show and The Simpsons, Bart Simpson, one-offs, cross-overs, Radioactive Man, seasonal specials, etc. Counting the comics, they're at episode 1,500 or thereabouts, and still going as strong as ever. And I'm not even counting Futurama. What a franchise!

The article doesn't say so is this four year old really special needs or just a stoner?

None. These are not the bags of weed you were looking for. Move along ;)

You misstated the problem.

The item most likely to be found in a police evidence locker is the lunch of the guy who has the key to the police evidence locker.

There's usually more than one key, but only one key is official, so the guy with that key never loses his lunch.

There are nine keys and one key ring to rule them all.

I want theories on how those bags got there.

1. Someone stashed the next day's delivery's in the wrong coat?
2. Kid put on wrong coat. (but then it would be pretty small)
3. Someone was cutting out bags and then a knock on the door and a furtive stashing? Then forgot or got pulled away?
4. Kid forgot to drop them off or misunderstood directions?

2012-01-26 11:00:52 AM
Dude... what?

none of my students have weed maaaan.

2012-01-26 11:04:32 AM
Did they all leave the boy's pocket at the same time? And what was the weight load? Was there wind resistance?

The answer is false. Ice cream doesn't have bones.

"What's so disheartening is this is really an adult issue and problem and adult behavior put a student at risk," Meriden schools superintendent Mark Benigni told Reuters.

I agree completely with Superintendent Benigni and look forward to the firing of those who endangered the student by bringing armed thugs into the school.

Just enough for a conviction. Duh, everybody knows that.

I guess C! C's always right, right? anyways, where's the prize? do I get to "Hold" a bag or two of that medicinal herbs?

I would say, he lost ALL profits! the Cops got all the profits anyways, then buy guns for the Mexican Cartels . . . (Thanks FBI)

Oh, I'd like to point out:
FTA: "Authorities are not releasing the names of the student or parents and police said there is a possibility for arrests pending the outcome of the investigation."

Is it really that uncertain that ANY pot will make it to court?

Damn. Submitted this link yesterday with a much shorter headline. Figured because I went to Hanover back in '79, cosmic forces would align or something and I'd finally get a greenlight. Ah well.

I just hope it wasn't one of those stupid headlines where the amount of weed found decreases every sentence.

Um...how are we to really know that he actually had nine bags?

You know, nine bags went into police custody but the kid *really* pulled out eleven.
